PLEASE NOTE: NO STUDENT SUMMONS DURING FINAL EXAMS: STUDENTS please note, there are NO student summons delivered during Final Exams. Please do NOT call your parents and ask them to excuse you early for any reason. The Attendance Office WILL NOT deliver student summons during Final Exams to remove you from class. ALL students need to stay during the entire final exam period out of respect for all the other classes in exams
PLEASE JOIN Canyon High School’s cast as they present their fall production A NIGHT OF BRITISH COMEDY this Wednesday, December 4th at 3:15 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The Wednesday show is $5.00 and the rest of the week tickets are $10.00.
“A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY” is having its 2nd annual Holiday Talent Show. Come see fellow classmates showcase their talents while raising money for the Castaic Animal Shelter. The talent show will be put on Thursday, December 12th and Friday, December 13th, at 6:30 p.m. in the B-Lecture hall. Presale tickets are being sold in room D-4, for $10, starting December 4th. Tickets will be $15 at the door. Stop by D-4 for more information.
THERE WILL BE A VARSITY FOOTBALL MEETING TODAY at 2:15 in Room G-210. This meeting is for all returning, new, and interested football players. If you have any questions, please see Coach Gutierrez prior to the meeting.
ALL PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS and student athletes please stick to the following time line for Locker room clean out: ALL LOCKS will be removed and contents of lockers will be donated to needy families at the end of the school day on December 19. PE classes will turn in locks and clean out lockers the week of December 16-19.
WINTER FORMAL tickets are on sale. Tickets start at $60 w/ASB cards and $70 w/o ASB. Prices go up Monday, December 9. Paperwork is available outside ASB.
SUMMER 2014 Pre-college experiences: Duke University is accepting applications for two academic programs for high school students. Duke’s four-week Summer College for High School Students program takes place June 28 - July 25 and is designed to enhance your students’ readiness for future admission to an undergraduate degree program at a selective and prestigious university or college. Students currently in grades 10 & 11 will make friends with students from all over the globe, learn from the faculty of Duke University and earn college credit.
FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY IN GRADES 9, 10, 11 and 12 we offer a new three-week program Duke Summer Academy for High School Students July 5 - 25. This program is designed for personal enrichment and offers a two-part daytime course in Global Citizenship and Leadership and an evening course with many exciting options available. The classroom environment is intimate enough to gain the individual attention you need to thrive, and the residential life is full of exciting excursions and activities. STUDENTS: If you have had to change your shirt due to Dress Code Violations and have NOT picked up your shirts/tops before winter break they will be discarded.
MEETINGS
ALL NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS! There is a mandatory event for all club members TODAY at lunch in C-1. We will be making greeting cards to help encourage the CHLA patients.
CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB and YU-GI-OH Club meet every Wednesday and Friday and G-117. Bring your lunch. Questions ask Mr. Clark
SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM will be meeting every Wednesday at lunch in room E-5.
BIBLE CLUB--Every Thursday at lunch, the Bible Club will meet in the A Lecture Hall. We'll have food and great discussions about the Bible and life. Come and meet some great people and be part of this exciting club!

HEY COWBOYS! There is a GSA Meeting Thursday in Room C-4 at lunch! It’s a pot luck so please bring some food if you can, if you can’t anyone is still welcome to come! We will be having a fundraiser on December 16 & 17 at The Habit, come find flyers in Room C-4, B-Lecture, and The counseling office! Come support your GSA and local PFLAG. Also, the next PFLAG Meeting is tomorrow at St. Stephens Church at 7pm!
THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting in g-107 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system on Friday December 6 from 3-7 pm. New players are welcome!
SENIORS
DIPLOMA NAME LIST: All seniors need to check the diploma name list posted in the display case outside the Counseling Office to make sure that their name is spelled correctly and that it is their legal name. If you find an error, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office as soon as possible so that a correction can be made. Otherwise, your name will appear on your diploma as it is written on this list. All changes and corrections need to be made by 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013. Copies of birth certificates are required for all changes!
