BLOOD DRIVE:  There will be a blood drive TOMORROW- April 25th in the gym.  If you are 16 or older, you can help save a life.  Please pick up permission slips in room E-5.  The first 40 people to sign up will receive an extra movie ticket.

YEARBOOK STAFF APPLICATIONS DUE: This is your final chance to apply for the 2014 yearbook staff. We are still looking for some freshmen and sophomores candidates to become part of the yearbook team for next year. Learn photography, design, and leadership skills while creating a part of Canyon history for 2014. Get an application from Mr. McCann in the T building or your counselor.

"A Little Goes a Long Way" is putting on a fundraiser at the Habit Burger Grill TODAY from 4-10 pm. Come eat delicious food and support the Castaic Animal Shelter. Just mention that you are there for the fundraiser or pick up a flyer in room D-4.

HEY JUNIORS!!  Do you want an amazing Senior Shirt next year?   Turn in your shirt designs before summer break to the ASB Office.  Paperwork is available now!

HEY CLASS OF 2014--THAT IS YOU JUNIORS!! Personalized Parking Spot Paperwork is available outside of the ASB office.  Paperwork is due May 17^th by 1:00 p.m. Remember, first come –first serve!

CHOIR AUDITIONS--If you wanted to audition for one of the fabulous Canyon choirs, but didn't get a chance to, please see Mrs. Purdy in the choir room today!

ELD Tutoring available Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room C3 with Ms. L from 3:00-4:00.  Get help in all subjects or use a computer if needed

ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS: YES I CAN is collecting submissions to be displayed at the Summer Meltdown Arts and Music Festival on May 4th at the Santa Clarita Skate park and Field.  If interested, stop by C 3 and speak with Ms. Lamedman, ask your art teacher, or talk to Enrique Gallagos, Austin Leinbach, Katie Hermosura, or David Ponce. Showcase your art or enter contests.

AP Econ Review sessions will be held EVERY Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at lunch in room A-5. These reviews will be ongoing beginning Monday, April 8 until the date of the AP Exam.

NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR - Thursday, April 25, 9am to noon and 6-9pm in the Pasadena Convention Center.  THIS IS YOUR GREAT OPPORTUNITY to learn about colleges!  300 Colleges attend this event!  You can meet college reps, go to the Resource Center to get help to choose a major, how to get financial aid, or attend Workshops - 7 available!  Want to watch a video about how a college fair works?  Go to www.nacacnet.org/ncfstudent to register for the fair or watch the video.   This event it FREE to students and their parents!

HEY COWBOYS!  National English Honor Society is hosting a book drive April 15 –April 26.  All donations will be sent to help out newly opened libraries.  Your donations could also earn you community service hours.  For every five books donated, you may earn on community service hour up to a maximum of five hours.  Help support Cowboys, and drop your donations in the library.

NEWS FROM SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY--Kaplan will be presenting an ACT/SAT practice test session at Valencia Library Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m.- 2p.m. This program is FREE! FREE! FREE! for High School Students. Personal Follow up will allow those tested and their parents/caregivers to learn how they did and provide testing advice. STUDENT TASK FORCE will be meeting this week on Thursday at lunch in G-201?

BIBLE CLUB--Come to the Bible Club on Thursday at lunch in the choir room.  Get some food and enjoy some time with other students.  Everyone is welcome.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!  There is a mandatory HUGE DFY IT meeting this Friday in room D8.  There will be information and huge event!  Please be there at lunch this Friday the 26th in room D8.  Also bring your community service hours to turn in.  See you there!

GSA(Gay/Straight Alliance) Club Meeting Thursday at lunch in C1...See you there!!

THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting this Friday from three to seven pm in K4 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system.   New players are welcome, and please stop by to sign up and reserve a place at a table. 

CHECKMATE CHESS CLUB and other board games will meet at Lunch in G-117.  Bring your lunch and enjoy the game of kings, queens, presidents, military leaders, and people all around the world.  Looking for a game of competition and intellectual stimulation at its highest form?  Join us every Wednesday and Friday.  Questions, see Mr. Clark in G-117

SENIORS

WERE YOU ACCEPTED TO ATTEND UCLA NEXT YEAR? The Santa Clarita Bruins are offering a $500 dollar scholarship.  Please pick up your application in the counseling office.  Applications must be post marked by May 4th.

THE SEIJI ISOMOTO SCHOLARSHIP FUND is offering a $1000 scholarship.  To apply you must have a 3.0 GPA, have at least one parent that is Asian, and have lettered in a high school varsity sport.  Applications are available in the counseling office.

THE CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION has $500 scholarships available for CSF seal bearers. Please stop by the library to pick up the scholarship application instructions. The submission deadline for all applicants is May 17th.
