GENERAL
SUMMER SCHOOL FORMS: Summer school forms have arrived and are available in the Front Office by Mrs. Ruppert. You may come by before or after school, or during brunch or lunch to pick up the forms. Priority registration will be given to students who return their forms to the Counseling Office by June 3, 2010. Parent signatures are required on all forms.
ROP CLASSES AUG 2010: ANY STUDENT WHO WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP FOR AN ROP CLASS STARTING IN THE FALL OF 2010 NEEDS TO GO SEE MRS. OKRONICK NOW
FOOD DAY: This Wednesday, March 10th is FOOD DAY!! Come on out and buy some yummy food! See you there!!
STUDENTS & FACULTY: Book Fair is coming to Canyon High. It will be here during the week of March 15-19. It will be held in H1 and open during brunch and lunch. There will be a variety of books for everyone in the family. Come and check it out and participate in the contest to identify the number of pretzels in the container. A prize will be given to the student who comes closest.
REVELUTION PREP SAT CLASSES-- Juniors! Does the thought of the SAT keep you up at night? Do you have nightmares about writing an essay in just 25 minutes? Lucky for you, Revolution Prep is offering an SAT class right here on campus with your very own Ms. Jones. Don't have the cash? Revolution offers scholarships to deserving students too. Classes start this weekend, so sign up at revolutionprep.com today or visit Ms. Jones in E5 for more information.
ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS: Get on the fast track to college! You can make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience! If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting on Thursday, March 11, at Valencia High Theater at 7:00 p.m., or at College of the Canyons Cafeteria on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. Applications will be distributed at the meeting.
YES-YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SERVICES: A program run by the City of Santa Clarita have summer jobs available for youth. Age 14-18. The program is open for students in Special Education, from Low-Income households or considered at-risk. Pick up application from Mrs. Rincon in G-124.
TUTORING TUESDAYS is happening this week in the library. Come to the library after school on Tuesday and get help in all your subjects. Math, English, Econ, Spanish, and Social Studies help is available. Hang out with your friends, study, use the computers, and improve your grades. We'll see you Tuesday in the library after school.
AP EXAM REGISTRATION has started and runs through March 12th, 1:00 PM. Students may register before school, brunch or during lunch in the ASB office. The fee for each test is $86, unless the student participate in the free or reduced lunch program. Students can see Mrs. Haro in the AP office to learn about this program. Don’t forget to sign up!!! NO LATE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED
PROM PAPERWORK is now available outside of the ASB office. Tickets go on sale to Senior Fun Pack holders on Wed. March 10th. Everyone else can buy tickets on Monday, March 15th.

ARCHITECTURE CAREER SEMINAR: Are you interested in exploring a career in design? Meet with an Architect on Wednesday, March 10 at 11:30 in Room H1 and learn about educational requirements, job duties, salary range and more! You won't want to miss the stress test that will be performed on a building model! Pick up permission slips in the Career Center.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION: Students must give the counselors 7-10 days advance notice for letters of recommendations. Make sure you complete a request for a letter of recommendation form before you give your application to your counselor. (See Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office if you need a form).
