GENERAL

PROM TICKET SALES: Buy your Prom tickets before, school, after school, brunch or lunch.        March 19-March 24---Price is $235 per couple FLAT RATE.  Single tickets sold for ½ couple price.

A great way to get community service hours is volunteering at Safe Rides.  There will be training for new volunteers --Saturday MARCH 28th at NOON. --At the City Activity Center--Go to scvsaferides.com for all the information. PLEASE – IF YOU HAVE YOUR LICENSE – WE NEED YOU! REMEMBER DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. DON’T RIDE WITH AN UNSAFE DRIVER--CALL SAFE RIDES 259-6330.  FRIDAY & SATURDAY FROM 10PM TO 2AM--IT’S a FREE RIDE!

NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY will be hosting a drive to support the American Book Drive from March 16-27.  You must donate 3 CD’s, DVD’s, of books that are in fair condition in order to receive one hour of community service.  All items will be collected in room C-1.  Anyone can donate, and there is no hour limit.  Check with your club to confirm using these hours.

DO YOU LIKE WINNING PRIZES? Well if you do come out and sign up to join the Math Honor Society Scavenger Hunt. Maximum team of 4 students. For everyone in any math class. Team signups are due by March 24th. Come by room G-216 to sign up.  March 31st is the day of the hunt!

LMU COLLEGE FIELD TRIP:  The Canyon Counseling Dept. is hosting a field trip to Loyola Marymount University (LMU) on Tuesday, April 14.  The cost is $10 and the bus will leave the school at 8:00am and will return to Canyon at 2:00pm.  Registration is limited to 50 students. For registration forms and more information, please come to the Counseling Office and see Mrs. Hettema or Mrs. Devoe.

MEETINGS

The SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM meets every Monday in  Room E-5, at lunch. 

SPECIAL OLYMPICS: Come to E-4 Tuesday at lunch for a Special Olympics meeting.  New members are always welcome.

The next DFYIT meeting will be held in H-1 at lunch on March 24.  It is an important X Week planning meeting - all members or persons interested in joining, please grab your lunch and come join us!

SENIORS

THE  CUBAN-AMERICAN  TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION (CATA) is offering a $500 scholarship to a student of Cuban descent interested in continuing their education at the college level.The student must speak Spanish and demonstrate an interest in their cultural heritage. Applications are due April 10, 2015. Please visit the Counseling Office for an application.
