GENERAL
AP STUDENTS: The window to buy AP exams will be March 2 – March 13. Your AP packet has been given to the first AP teacher of your schedule this semester. If your only AP class was AP Government last semester, please come to the Counseling Office to pick up your packet. You can purchase your tests at the ASB window once all the forms are completed. PLEASE NOTE, NO TESTS WILL SOLD AFTER MARCH 13 AT 1:00 P.M.
Attention 10th and 11th graders! Are you taking the SAT on May 2? If so, Tier One Tutors will be offering a series of prep classes to help you succeed on the SAT. The classes start March 18 and will meet at Canyon High School. The cost is only $95. If you are interested, please visit the Counseling Office to pick up a flyer.
Remember to turn in your SUPPORT OUR SOLDIERS officer applications to room G217 by TODAY. Announcements of next year’s officers will be made at the movie night in March.
SANTA CLARITA VALLEY 31st ANNUAL ALL SCHOOLS DANCE AT MAGIC MOUNTAIN will be Friday, March 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Must have student school ID to attend. This event is open to SCV students only grades 8-12. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $10 per student. DFYIT students who wear their DFYIT t-shirt will be admitted for $5. There will be a DJ, light show, raffle and prizes.
YES I CAN’S ANNUAL WALK-A-THON will be held on Saturday, March 14 on Canyon High’s track and field. This year, we invite ALL of Canyon High students to participate in this event. Bring your family and friends and help raise funds for Yes I Can’s 12th Annual Summer Meltdown. Get sponsors or just come out to support Yes I Can. Ask a YES I CANNER or any of your teachers about getting a sponsor sheet. You can get more information and sponsor sheets from C-3 or G-109.
SIGNUPS for 3 on 3 intramural basketball will take place this week. All skill levels are welcome! Sign-up in C-5 at both brunches and lunch.
MEETINGS
ROP COSMETOLOGY: There will be a Cosmetology information meeting for students interested in the ROP Cosmetology program on Friday, March 6 in H1 at 12:30 p.m. Program details and requirements will be presented and applications will be made available at that time. We look forward to seeing you there!
SPECIAL OLYMPICS CLUB has new volunteer opportunities for those who are interested. Please come by E-4 to pick up flyers.
THE CANYON ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be having a training and meeting for students who wish to Game Master games from 3 to 5 pm TODAY. Prizes and food will be available!
SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Attention all Science National Honor Society Applicants! Check the list posted outside room G-101 to see if you made it! Make sure to check before our meeting today at lunch in room G 101! See you there.
HEY CSF MEMBERS! We will have a general meeting today in the Library at lunch. The official list of members has been posted in the Library. Also, we will be taking our yearbook photo at the meeting. See you all there!

Hey cowboys! Come and support our VARSITY DANCE TEAM this Saturday, February 28 at Saugus High School. This will be a great competition with a lot of surprises. Admission is $9.00 at the door for the all-day event. Hope to see you there!
SENIORS
SENIORS- The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is offering 50 scholarships each up to $25,000 a year. This program is for students who plan to enroll full-time in a four-year college or university with a major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business with an interest in the automotive industry. There is a special COLLEGE EXPO for Asian American Pacific Islanders entitled “Journey to Success.” It is scheduled to be at California State at Northridge (CSUN), which is located at 18111 Nordhoff Street in Northridge. The EXPO will be in the Northridge Center on March 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Workshops will include financial aid and an interactive Engineering lab. The CALIFORNIA SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (CSEA) is awarding over 50 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. If your parent belongs to CSEA, you need to head to the Counseling Office for an application. The application deadline is March 1, 2015.
You may qualify for $1000-$7500 if your parent is employed by a police or fire department. You must write a 500-750 word essay, and you must have taken the SAT to apply for this scholarship. Please visit www.CAAonline.org (click on programs) for more information. Application deadline is March 27, 2015.
Would a scholarship in the amount of $1000 help you pursue your educational dreams? The Jacob Zamora Memorial Foundation Scholarship application is available in Canyon’s Counseling Office. The scholarship is open to students with a cumulative GPA ranging from 2.5-3.4. The application deadline is March 9, 2015. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for FREE MONEY!
THE SANTA CLARITA VALLEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION will award up to $10,000 in scholarship funds to local graduating seniors interested in pursuing a career related to education. Visit www.scveducationfoundation.org/scholarships for the application. Completed applications are due March 13, 2015.
