GENERAL
ATHLETIC BAGS: ARE NO LONGER allowed to be stored in the Office. Talk to your coach about getting a sports locker or storing your bag in the coach’s classroom. Thank you for your cooperation.
WINTER FORMAL PICTURES ARE IN, please pick up in the ASB classroom before school, brunch, and lunch only.
HEALTH OFFICE: When you are ill, you must get a pass from your teacher to come up to the Health Office. It is there that contact will be made with your parents/guardians to arrange for you to go home. Do not call or text your parents or guardians from the classroom expecting to be summoned to the Health Office.
ASVAB TESTING: Canyon will be hosting the ASVAB test on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. The test will be given in the Library starting at 8:00 am. Taking the ASVAB while in high school is the only time students can take the ASVAB as a skills and vocational assessment test. The test is available for sophomores, juniors and seniors only. If you are looking to find your academic strengths, possible future career options or are interested in exploring the military, this is a great time to take advantage of this FREE opportunity on our campus. Please sign-up in the counseling office ASAP to reserve your spot, as spaces are limited. The LAST day to sign up will be Friday, February 27, 2015.
CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION (CHSPE): The California High School Proficiency Examination will be administered on March 21, 2015. The registration deadline is February 20, 2015, and the cost is $110.00. This exam is for students interested in an alternative to graduating from high school so they can move ahead to higher education or prepare for a career. You can earn the legal equivalent of a high school diploma by proving your proficiency in basic skills though the CHSPE exam. You must be 16-years old, or if 15, just completed your 10th grade year. ANIME CLUB: Come to room K-4 during lunch today and join the Anime Club! Here we will learn about our favorite stories, learn how to draw Anime, and have a terrific time! Everyone is welcome! See you there!

THERE IS A SPECIAL OLYMPIC Club meeting TODAY in room E-4. We have new volunteer opportunities and are holding a vote for office positions. Attendance is mandatory to vote and to be a vanadate for a position.
SENIORS
SENIORS: Would a scholarship in the amount of $1000 help you pursue your educational dreams? The Jacob Zamora Memorial Foundation Scholarship Application is available in Canyon's Counseling Office. The scholarship is open to students with a cumulative GPA ranging from 2.50-3.40 the application deadline is March 9, 2015. Don't miss out on this opportunity for FREE MONEY!
The Zonta Club of SCV will award one senior girl a $1, 000 Scholarship to an applicant who demonstrates: Active Commitment to Volunteerism, experience in local or student government, leadership achievements, knowledge of Zonta International & its programs & advocates for Zonta International's mission to advance the status of women worldwide. THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (CSEA) is awarding over 50 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. If your parent belongs to CSEA, you need to head to the Counseling Office for an application. The application deadline is March 1, 2015.
