GENERAL
OPERATION US: We will be at Sulphur Springs on November 21st. If you would like to attend, see Ms. Mast for a slip at the start of lunch TODAY. This will be our last presentation of the semester.
DO YOU WANT THE LEADERSHIP SHIRT that was designed by our very own Jessica Keller, but you forgot to turn the order in? If so, you're in luck--we are extending the due date to November 7th. The shirt is $15, and due to C7 by lunch Friday. Support Canyon's Leadership program and get your shirt today.
COLLEGE FIELD TRIP TO CSUN CAMPUS: There is still room on the bus if you would like to go on the college field trip on November 12. The bus will leave at 9:00 am and will return to our campus at approximately 2:00 pm. The cost is $10 (cash only) which covers the cost of the bus. Please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office to pick up the registration and permission slips. Registration is limited to 50 students. The deadline to sign up is Friday, November 7.
DO YOU WANT T0 ATTEND COLLEGE but worry about how to pay for it? Then you need to know more about Financial Aid! There will be two financial aid workshops this Wednesday, November 5th.
The first workshop will be Wednesday, November 5th, at 7:40 am in the library. It is a late start day. THERE WILL BE BREAKFAST!!! We will share with you the types of financial aid available, where to get it, and the deadlines for application. If you need help paying for college, make sure to attend this important workshop. Parents and students are invited to attend. Don't forget, we will feed you!
The second workshop will be Wednesday, November 5th, at 6:30 pm in the library. One of our Canyon parents will be discussing financial planning for college. This is a great workshop for all parents to attend. We hope to see you there!

MEETINGS
ANIME CLUB: Come to room K-4 during lunch today and join the Anime Club! Here we will learn about our favorite stories, learn how to draw Anime, and have a terrific time! Everyone is welcome! See you there!
STAND UP AND SPEAK UP: Speak Up is meeting every Tuesday at lunch in the B Lecture Hall.

THE CANYON ROLEPLAYING CLUB is meeting on Friday November 7th in room K-3 from 3-7 pm to play the pathfinder roleplaying game. New players are welcome!
CHECKMATES CHESE CLUB, YU-GI-OH and Vanguard and other board games meets every Wednesday and Friday in G-117. Bring your lunch. Questions, see Mr. Clark in G-117.
SENIORS
SENIORS: If you plan to apply to a UC or CSU school, the deadline is November 30th. The counselors are available all this week and next week during 6th and 7th period in the library to help you apply. There is a signup sheet in the counseling office. The counselors will help you with any online application. Please make sure to apply early!!
By the way, if you are still having trouble deciding which schools would be a good match for you, please come to these sessions. We can help with that too!
SENIORS: The Stokes Educational Scholarship will be awarded to students planning on majoring in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. Minority students are particularly encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients will receive paid tuition up to $30, 000 per year, a year-round salary, and guaranteed employment.
