GENERAL
CANYON’S COUNSELING DEPARTMENT will be hosting a morning workshop this coming Wednesday, Sept. 10th in Canyon's library. The workshop will be geared towards students’ grades 9-11. It will begin at 7:45am .as Wednesday is a late-start day. The workshop is entitled Steps to Success. Topics include: Goal setting, the A-G Requirements and other pertinent information and valuable resources to help you achieve your post-secondary goals.
SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL HUNGER AWARENESS MONTH. Join Cheer, Football and ASB in our month long food drive. With your donations of canned food or personal hygiene items, we can help support the local food banks. Boxes are located in the front office or you can bring any donations to our home game on Friday, September 19th. No one deserves to go hungry. Let’s show our community that Canyon High is committed to helping end hunger. Donate today!
FOOD SERVICE: Only students purchasing brunch or lunch should be in the food service building. Once you have gotten your food, please exit the building right away to allow others access to the counters. If you are waiting for your friends, please wait outside. Thank you for your cooperation.
COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS CAREERS ON THE GO WORKSHOP SERIES! The Culinary Arts workshop will be held on Thursday, September 18th, 2014 from 6:00PM-7:30PM at the COC Valencia Campus in Mentry Hall Room 343.
PARKING PASSES: There are ONLY 25 parking passes left. First come, first serve. Juniors and Seniors only. Make sure you have the paperwork complete, before you sign up. Paperwork is found on the wall outside the ASB office.
THE HART SCHOOL DISTRICT’S FOURTH ANNUAL COLLEGE AND CAREER FAIR on Wednesday evening, September 17th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. Because of the popularity of our fair, the event will be open to juniors and seniors only.

"A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY” will have its first general meeting of the year TODAY in room D-4. If you are interested in joining a club that raises money for local charities, then please come to our first meeting of the year!
HELPING HANDS members, remember there is a mandatory orientation at the Canyon Country Library TODAY at 4:00, if you are unable to make it please speak with your president.
THE CANYON HIGH RED CROSS CLUB is having a meeting Wednesday, September 10, in G 219 at the beginning of lunch. The Red Cross is an organization that prevents and relieves suffering, here at home and around the world through five key service areas: Disaster Relief, Supporting America’s Military Families, Lifesaving Blood, and Health and Safety Services. Everyone is welcome at the meeting.
COME JOIN THE MATH HONOR SOCIETY every Tuesday in room G-216. This week we will be working on competitions. New members are welcome. Applications are due on September 12. Last year members, we still need your current transcripts. Also, sign up for Math Lunch Tutoring to get community service hours. If you have any questions, please talk to Mrs. Denny or one of the leaders.

LATINO DANCE CLUB:-Club Latino de Baile: Are you interested in showing your pride on Mexican traditional dances, or would you simply like to learn how to dance Latino music, such as cumbia, salsa, and merengue? Come and join us weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in room AA1. Let's have some fun! Experience is not required. Hope to see you there!

ARE YOU A STUDENT WHO IS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING ONE OF THE MILITARY ACADEMIES? ONCE A YEAR Congressman Buck McKeon gathers rep from all of the military academies so that students and their parents can meet with them. Reps from the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis), the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), US Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs), US Coast Guard Academy (New London, CT.), and the US Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY) will be at COC, in the University Center (this is on the Valencia Campus) at 7pm., THIS TUESDAY, September 9th. WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN AWARD: Are you a senior athlete who is a great student in the classroom (has at least a "B" average), a great athlete on the playing field, and active in leadership and/or the community? Wendy's Restaurants have combined with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee to honor both female and male athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and are role models to underclassmen.
