GENERAL

 

MAKE UP CHOIR AUDITIONS--If you were unable to audition for choir last week, come to the A Lecture Hall after school on Friday for a make-up audition, beginning at 3:15 p.m.    First come, first served!

 

THEATRE AUDITIONS for the 3rd period "Adventures in Acting" class will be Monday May 19th after school in the Q-Theatre. This class travels to acting competitions, takes workshops from professionals and studies acting on a deeper level. No preparation necessary.

Any questions, ask Mrs. P in the B-Lecture Hall.

 

THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED SECOND BRUNCH next Tuesday, May 20th through Friday, May 23rd. We're very sorry for the inconvenience.

 

SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRESS REPORTS:  If you would like to receive a supplemental progress report tomorrow, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office between 7:30am and 8:00am tomorrow morning to pick one up.  If you have a 7:00am class, you may pick one up today after your last class.

 

DANCE TEAM ANNUAL SHOW: "Mardi Gras" will be this Saturday May 17th at 6:30pm in the main gym. Come and support our great dancers. Tickets will be $10 and $8 with ASB card. Please do not miss this amazing show. 

 

CONCORDE CAREER COLLEGE will be having an Open House on Saturday May 17th from 9am to 1pm.  They are located at 12412 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, 91606.  They specialize in Healthcare Education.   There will be free CPR and lab demonstrations, and you can observe a mock surgery!  Also free hot dogs and hamburgers!   Call 1.818.766.8151 to reserve your spot.  Check out their website at www.concorde.edu

 

DANCE TEAM TRY-OUTS:  Do you love to dance? Is dancing one of your favorite things to do? Would like to join Canyon's Dance Team next year? Come and join us at our Try-outs on Monday, May 19th from 3:30-6:00pm in the main gym and on Tuesday, May 20th in the dance room AA1. Please be on time!

CITY OF SANTA CLARITA HIGH SCHOOL POOL PARTY, Saturday May 17 from 2-4 pm. at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway Tickets are available at the door for $5 - there will be a DJ, food provided by The Habit Burger Grill, and you will receive a pair of sunglasses - While DFYIT is sponsoring this pool party, it is open to all high school students in the Hart School District.  Come join the fun!!

 

ANIME CLUB is meeting TODAY in room G-107. Hope to see you there!

 

SUMMER SPORTS:  Pick up packets for the summer sports program in the Front Office or the ASB Office.  When completed turn them into the ASB Office.

 

HEY THERE!!  LIKE CHOCOLATE??  Well, your Canyon Choirs are selling World’s Finest Chocolates every day in the A-Lecture Hall after school.  So come and buy a bar or two, they are a dollar each!

 

MEETINGS

 

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB and YU-GI-OH Club meet every Wednesday and Friday and G-117.  Bring your lunch. Questions ask Mr. Clark

 

DFYIT will be having its final club meeting of the school year TODAY at lunch in room E4 - we invite all DFYIT members to the meeting and will be serving pizza!  Please be prompt - we have a lot to discuss to get ready for next year!

 

HEY COWBOYS!  The next GSA meeting is TODAY at lunch in room C-4!  It is our second to last meeting and we will be having guest speakers from PFLAG to discuss their BBQ and how to earn community service hours if you need them!  Hope to see you there!

 

POLITICAL DEBATE CLUB:  Meets every Friday at lunch in room E-1

 

SENIORS

 

ALL SENIORS GOING TO GRAD NITE on June 2nd must turn in permission slip signed by parents before you will be allowed on the bus.

 

ATTENTION SENIORS: Just a reminder that “Final Transcript” requests can be turned in anytime, but no later than Friday, June 6th – the last day of the school year, in order for us to mail them out on time by June 18th.  If you have any questions, you are welcome to stop by the Registrar’s Office.

 

ATTENTION CSF SEALBEARERS-You are eligible for a chapter scholarship. To apply, download the application instructions from the CSF page on the library's web site. Applications are due no later than Monday, May 19th. Not sure if you're a Sealbearer? Check out the list on the CSF section on the bulletin board in the library.
