GENERAL

 

IN THE MOOD FOR HILARIOUS COMEDY, HUGE DANCE NUMBERS, AND AMAZING VOICES? DO NOT MISS the Canyon spring musical -- "The Drowsy Chaperone" this Fri, and Sat at 7 PM at the Golden Valley Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 or $12 w/ASB. It's Canyon Theatre's largest production of the year and you don't want to miss out!

 

There is a MANDATORY CSF meeting TODAY at lunch in the library for all Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors. We will be voting for officers for the Fall semester. Come and hear what the officer candidates have to say and vote for your choice to represent our chapter for next year. See you Friday!

 

SENIOR CLASS OF 2015!  The time has come, senior year is on its way.  If you have a senior t-shirt design, please pick up a design form outside of the ASB Office.  Give you submissions to the ASB Office.

 

AP ECONOMICS REVIEW: If you took AP Economics in the fall semester and are planning on taking the AP Exam next month, Mr. Smith will be conducting AP reviews every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at lunch in room A-5. The reviews will begin on Monday, April 21, and run thru Wednesday, May 14.

 

SUMMER SPORTS:  Pick up packets for the summer sports program in the Front Office or the ASB Office.  When completed turn them into the ASB Office.

 

MEETINGS

 

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB and YU-GI-OH Club meet every Wednesday and Friday and G-117.  Bring your lunch. Questions ask Mr. Clark

 

THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting in G-107 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system TODAY from 3-7 pm.   New players are welcome!

 

POLITICAL DEBATE CLUB:  Meets TODAY at lunch in room E-1. 

 

FCA MEETING:  TODAY in room G-206 at lunch.  Come check us out. Everyone is welcome

 

HEY COWBOYS!  The next GSA meeting is Thursday, May 15 at lunch in room C-4!  It is our second to last meeting and we will be having guest speakers from PFLAG to discuss their BBQ and how to earn community service hours if you need them!  Hope to see you there!

 

SENIORS

 

SENIORS, the Ian Gelig Memorial Scholarship is offering a $1000 scholarship to a senior that has a parent or sibling that is a veteran.  The scholarship can be renewed for 8 semesters, so it will be an $8000 scholarship.  You must have a GPA over 2.0 to apply.  Please pick up an application in the counseling office if interested.  The scholarship deadline is May 15th.

 

THE Fil-Am Association of SCV is offering a $1000 scholarship to a senior with a 3.5 or above GPA that is of Filipino descent. Please pick up an application in the counseling office if you are interested.  The deadline is May 16th.

 

THE RENOLDS FAMILY is offering a $500 scholarship for a male athlete with a GPA of 2.5 to 3.5 that intends to go to a trade school, community college, or university.  If you are interested, please pick up an application in the counseling office.  The deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.

 

SENIORS- Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship for 2014 is an essay competition for high school seniors who are children of full-time or retired public employees. Scholarships range from $250-$1, 500 based on the merit of the essays that propose ways to reduce the accident rate among teenagers. The deadline to apply is May 16, 2014.
