GENERAL
IN THE MOOD FOR HILARIOUS COMEDY, HUGE DANCE NUMBERS, AND AMAZING VOICES? DO NOT MISS the Canyon spring musical -- "The Drowsy Chaperone" this Thurs, Fri, and Sat at 7 PM at the Golden Valley Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 or $12 w/ASB. It's Canyon Theatre's largest production of the year and you don't want to miss out!
There is a MANDATORY CSF meeting this Friday at lunch in the library for all Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors. We will be voting for officers for the Fall semester. Come and hear what the officer candidates have to say and vote for your choice to represent our chapter for next year. See you Friday!
SENIOR CLASS OF 2015! The time has come, senior year is on its way. If you have a senior t-shirt design, please pick up a design form outside of the ASB Office. Give you submissions to the ASB Office.
X WEEK IS HERE!! Today is hard drug awareness day. This includes heroin, crystal meth, cocaine, ecstasy, crack and inhalants. Way too many people have died from these drugs. Don’t forget to sign the pledge banner at lunch on the stage. Tomorrow is alcohol/binge drinking day. Alcohol is the number one abused drug by all teens. Wear Canyon spirit wear to show your support and awareness of alcohol. Binge drinking and underage drinking. Tomorrow is the last day to sign the banner so let’s be the school to get the most signatures!
CHOIR AUDITIONS ARE COMING! Would you like to be part of something really special at Canyon, something that feels like a family? Canyon High School has one of the best and most unified choirs in the Hart district. If you would like to be part of the Men's or Women's Chamber Ensembles, the Concert Choir or Madrigals, you need to audition. Auditions will be May 7th & 8th in the A Lecture Hall. Sign up on the door of the A Lecture Hall. Come be part of the groups that traveled to Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia this year!
AP ECONOMICS REVIEW: If you took AP Economics in the fall semester and are planning on taking the AP Exam next month, Mr. Smith will be conducting AP reviews every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at lunch in room A-5. The reviews will begin on Monday, April 21, and run thru Wednesday, May 14.
THE HART ROP CAREER INTERNSHIP CLASS is now taking applications for the summer session. Students do an unpaid internship and will earn up to five credits for the semester. The internship class is designed for students who have a strong interest in a career field and ideally have taken an elective or ROP class in the related area. Internships are available in marketing, journalism, video production, photography, fashion design, physical therapy, engineering and culinary. Students are not limited to this list and can suggest another industry and get approval from the District. Good grades and attendance record are mandatory requirements to apply.
The class runs from June 18 July 30. The class takes place outside of summer school hours and students need to provide their own transportation. Applications are due by May 16. For more information or to register for the course, students should contact their ROP Specialist.
SUMMER SPORTS: Pick up packets for the summer sports program in the Front Office or the ASB Office. When completed turn them into the ASB Office.

COME GET YOUR CLUB ON!! Your Bible club, that is! There will be fantastabular conversations about the Bible and related topics. Come this Thursday at lunch to the A Lecture Hall.
HEY COWBOYS: There will be a GSA meeting at lunch Thursday at lunch in room C-4.
THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting in G-107 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system this Friday from 3-7 pm. New players are welcome!
POLITICAL DEBATE CLUB: Meets every Friday at lunch in room E-1.
SENIORS
THE Fil-Am Association of SCV is offering a $1000 scholarship to a senior with a 3.5 or above GPA that is of Filipino descent. Please pick up an application in the counseling office if you are interested. The deadline is May 16th.
THE RENOLDS FAMILY is offering a $500 scholarship for a male athlete with a GPA of 2.5 to 3.5 that intends to go to a trade school, community college, or university. If you are interested, please pick up an application in the counseling office. The deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
SENIORS- Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship for 2014 is an essay competition for high school seniors who are children of full-time or retired public employees. Scholarships range from $250-$1, 500 based on the merit of the essays that propose ways to reduce the accident rate among teenagers. The deadline to apply is May 16, 2014.
