GENERAL
CANYON HIGH SCHOOL’S COWBOY LACROSSE CLUB has its first home game in club history tonight at 7:00 p.m. on the Main Field in Harry Welch Stadium. Come out and make some noise for your 'Boys!
ATTENTION ALL 10th graders and any junior or senior who hasn’t passed one or both sections of the CAHSEE!
CAHSEE testing will be Tuesday March 18 and Wednesday March 19. We will have a special bell schedule those days. Please visit the CHS website to see the bell schedule.
Students taking the CAHSEE will receive an invitation letting them know where to go to take the test. A reminder invitation will go out the day before the test.
Students taking the test are encouraged to arrive to school at 7:45 am to give them plenty of time to find their testing location. Test takers should also have a healthy breakfast to fuel their mind and body.
Señora Lewis is going to Paris and Rome next year during spring break 2015. If you would like to join her, come to a meeting today at lunch in room D7.
JAZZ POP: Hey Cowboys, there is no party like a Jazz/Pop party, so come celebrate it with the choirs on Friday, March 21 at 7:30 pm, or on Saturday, March 22 at 6:30 pm. Both concerts are in the main GYM! Tickets go on sale on Monday, March 17! They are $7 without an ASB card, or $5 with an ASB or for senior citizens. Children under 10 get in for free! So come celebrate with the choirs and purchase a ticket from a choir student or Mrs. Purdy. Hope to see you there!
If you missed the ASVAB Career Exploration test here at Canyon, there will be another opportunity. The test will be offered on Tuesday, April 15th from 3:45-6:45 pm at the Hart District Offices. A signup sheet is in the counseling office.
JUNIORS - are you interested in attending a Leadership Opportunity over the summer? Pepperdine University, which is in Malibu, is having its annual 5-day Youth Citizenship Seminar (YCS) from June 16th-June 20th. Selected juniors will stay on campus, interact with today's leaders, explore current world and national topics and discuss constructive solutions. Canyon can nominate 2 boys and 2 girls to go. $20 dorm-room key deposit is required. Academic ranking is not necessarily a pre-req for this opportunity; students that are active in Leadership, clubs, ASB, athletics, theater, music, or a wide variety of student activities may be interested. If you are interested please see your counselor or Mrs. Trapani in the Counseling Office. Nominations are due by March 17th to Mrs. Trapani in the Counseling Office.
