STUDENTS: Please be advised that effective immediately, parents are being asked to pull all the way forward in the horseshoe when dropping students off, and only to drop off students in the lane that is adjacent to the curb.. We are asking you not to get out in the lane that is not on the curb, not to cross in front of traffic at any time, not to get dropped off in the middle of the street,to use the crosswalks, and to arrive and get home safely.
THE LIBRARY will be closed 1st period tomorrow for a class. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
OPERATION US: Permission slips for our March 6th presentation at Pine Tree are due to Ms. Mast in E3 by the end of lunch this Friday!
ROP- COSMETOLOGY: There will be an information meeting for students interested in the ROP cosmetology program on Wednesday, March 5th in the ROP office. Applications for current juniors will be made available at that time.
THE SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY is hosting a Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los libras from 10:00 AM to 3:30PM on Saturday April 5th at the Canyon Country Library. This is a great volunteer opportunity if you need hours. Sign-up in V-1 Mr. Lee's room. You do not have to be in the Key Club to sign-up.
ROP- DENTAL ASSISTANT: Have you thought of being a Dental Assistant or Dental School? The ROP Dental Assistant class can save you thousands of dollars while you develop an employable skill. Held a Charter College, it provides students the opportunity to earn their California State Dental Radiology Certification and certificates in Infection Control and Dental Practice Act. ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS: You can earn college credits now and get a jump start on your future. Make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience! If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting tonight, February 27 at Valencia High MPR at 7:00 p.m.

POKEMON CLUB: Gotta catch ‘em all! Pokemon Club is taking it’s yearbook photo in B-6 during brunch on Monday, March 3. Mandatory meeting!!! We are also accepting new members if you love Pokemon. Hope to battle you there!
POLITICAL DEBATE CLUB: The Political Debate Club meets every Friday at lunch in E-1, New members always welcome.

SENIORS
SENIORS: The deadline to complete the FAFSA is March 2nd. The Canyon Counseling Dept. has already sent your GPA verifications to the State. You do not need any forms signed by us. Please make sure to meet this very important deadline. If you have questions about specific items on the FAFSA, please call the free assistance line at 1-800-433-3243.
THE CALIFORNIA ALARM ASSOCIATION is offering $40,000 in scholarships to seniors with a parent or guardian that is a full time member of a law enforcement agency. If you have a parent or guardian that is a full time paid or volunteer member of a fire department you are also eligible to apply. Please pick up an application in the counseling office. Applications must be postmarked by March 31st.
THE BACKER SCV EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP is for students that are interested in becoming teachers. If you plan to be an educator, please come up to the counseling office and pick up a scholarship application. Applications must be mailed by March 14th.
THE JACOB ZAMORA MEMORIAL FOUNDATION is offering a scholarship for a senior with a GPA from 2.5 to 3.4. If you meet this criteria, please pick up an application in the counseling office. The applications are due to Mrs. Goller by 3 pm on March 11th.
SENIORS: If your parent or guardian is a classified staff member of the Hart District, The California School Employees Association is offering a $250 scholarship that is just for you! Please pick up an application in the counseling office. The application is due back to Mrs. Goller by March 7th.
