ATTENTION CANYON HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS ATHLETES:

If you are in an athletic class and your sport has ended, that does not mean you may leave campus during 7th period.  Your athletic class is still counted in attendance and for a grade, so only excused absences allow you to leave campus.  Do not try to exit through the main office or through the gates by showing your winter sport sticker.  Lower level athletes must check in with the varsity team to watch practice or work in the designated meeting spot.

THE SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY is hosting a Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los libras from 10:00 AM to 3:30PM on Saturday april 5th at the Canyon Country Library. This is a great volunteer opportunity if you need hours. Sign-up in V-1 Mr. Lee's room. You do not have to be in the Key Club to sign-up.

POLITICAL DEBATE CLUB is sponsoring the KEEP ON GRUBBIN truck at Food Day TODAY.  They are serving grilled cheese, hot dogs, chili dogs and combos. 

ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS: You can earn college credits now and get a jump start on your future.  Make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience!  If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting tonight in the COC University Center Room 258 at 7:00 p.m.

HEY COWBOYS! The next GSA meeting TODAY at lunch in Room C-4, bring a friend and come get a summit application form, the date has changed so come for the update! Hope to see you there!

COME GET YOUR CLUB ON!  Your Bible club, that is!  There will be home-baked goodies and fantastabular conversations about the Bible and related topics.  Come this Thursday at lunch to the A Lecture Hall.

BELIEVE CLUB:  Believe Club is meeting TODAY at lunch in room F-2.

POKEMON CLUB:  Gotta catch ‘em all!  Pokemon Club is taking it’s yearbook photo in B-6 during brunch on Monday, March 3.  Mandatory meeting!!!  We are also accepting new members if you love Pokemon.  Hope to battle you there!

SENIORS

SENIORS: The deadline to complete the FAFSA is March 2nd.  The Canyon Counseling Dept. has already sent your GPA verifications to the State.  You do not need any forms signed by us.  Please make sure to meet this very important deadline.  If you have questions about specific items on the FAFSA, please call the free assistance line at 1-800-433-3243.

THE CALIFORNIA ALARM ASSOCIATION is offering $40,000 in scholarships to seniors with a parent or guardian that is a full time member of a law enforcement agency.  If you have a parent or guardian that is a full time paid or volunteer member of a fire department you are also eligible to apply.  Please pick up an application in the counseling office.  Applications must be postmarked by March 31st.

THE BACKER SCV EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP is for students that are interested in becoming teachers.  If you plan to be an educator, please come up to the counseling office and pick up a scholarship application.  Applications must be mailed by March 14th.

THE JACOB ZAMORA MEMORIAL FOUNDATION is offering a scholarship for a senior with a GPA from 2.5 to 3.4.  If you meet this criteria, please pick up an application in the counseling office.  The applications are due to Mrs. Goller by 3 pm on March 11th.

SENIORS: If your parent or guardian is a classified staff member of the Hart District, The California School Employees Association is offering a $250 scholarship that is just for you!  Please pick up an application in the counseling office.  The application is due back to Mrs. Goller by March 7th.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A PART OF THE 2014-2015 EXECUTIVE CABINET OR A CLASS OFFICER?  There will be a Mandatory meeting (you may go to either meeting) for all students interested on:

Wednesday, February 26  6 pm -7pm

Thursday, February 27 6 pm -7pm

In room J-1

Packets will be given out for Executive and Class Officer Positions at this meeting!
