GENERAL
OPERATION US: Completed Leona Cox permission slips are due to Ms. Mast in E3 by THIS Friday 2/21 at the end of lunch. Come by this week during 2nd brunch or lunch to turn in your permission slips.
IT IS NOW PLAYOFF TIME:
Our Foothill champion Girls Basketball team will host El Toro of Lake Forest (11-15) on Saturday game time TBA in the CIF-SS Division IA first round.
Our Boys' Basketball team will play at Loara of Anaheim (14-13) @ 7pm in the first round of the Division IIAA bracket on Friday.
Our Girls' Soccer team will play Newbury Park (14-4-2) @ Newbury Park on Friday. Game time TBA.
There is a charge for the Boys and Girls Basketball games. No charge for the Girls Soccer game.

STUDENT (with high school ID) $5.00
CHILD (5 to 13 years old) $5.00
WINTER FORMAL PICTURES: Are available to pick up starting today at Brunch and Lunch in J-1.
CANYON CHEER is collecting anything and everything that can be donated to their program. Items can include home goods, clothing, picture frames, candle holders, etc. Please bring these items to G214 or the AP Office.
The ASVAB will be offered on March 11th in the Library starting at 8:00 am. The ASVAB is a skills and vocational assessment test. The test is available for sophomores, juniors, and seniors, whether you are looking to find your academic strengths, possible future career options or are interested in exploring the military, this is a great time to take advantage of this free opportunity on our campus. Sign up in the counseling office.
ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS: You can earn college credits now and get a jump start on your future. Make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience! If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an information meeting on Wednesday, February 26 in the COC University Center Room 258 at 7:00 p.m.
ARE YOU TAKING THE SAT SOON? If so, you are encouraged to take a prep class that will help you succeed. Tier One, one of the largest SAT preparation providers in Southern California, is once again holding prep classes right here at Canyon High School. These classes will run a full 20 hours in total length, be taught by a skilled and specially trained SAT instructor, will include two proctored exams and will cover material for the entire test (the Math, Critical Reading and Writing sections). he only fee involved in this program is $90 to cover the cost of materials. If you’re interested in the prep classes, please see your counselor to get more information about registering. You need to register ASAP to ensure a seat in the class.

THE BOOK CLUB meets Friday in the library at lunch. Everyone is welcome!
POLITICAL DEBATE CLUB: Meets every Friday at lunch in room E-1. New members are always welcome!

FCA MEETING this Friday in room G-206 at lunch. Landen Llamas will be speaking –so come and check it out. Everyone is welcome!
COME GET YOUR CLUB ON! Your Bible club, that is! There will be home-baked goodies and fantastabular conversations about the Bible and related topics. Come this Thursday at lunch to the A Lecture Hall. This week the Bible club will have a guest speaker. Come and hear the awesome message and enjoy some homemade goodies. Everyone is welcome!

Hey cowboys! The next GSA meeting is next Thursday, Feb 27 at lunch in Room C-4! Also, the GSA is doing a Goodwill Fundraiser on February 22 at Central Park, so please back up stuff you don’t want, and contact a GSA officer to come pick it up!
SENIORS
SENIORS: The deadline to complete the FAFSA is March 2nd. The Canyon Counseling Dept. has already sent your GPA verifications to the State. You do not need any forms signed by us. Please make sure to meet this very important deadline. If you have questions about specific items on the FAFSA, please call the free assistance line at 1-800-433-3243.
THE BACKER SCV EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP is for students that are interested in becoming teachers. If you plan to be an educator, please come up to the counseling office and pick up a scholarship application. Applications must be mailed by March 14th.
THE JACOB ZAMORA MEMORIAL FOUNDATION is offering a scholarship for a senior with a GPA from 2.5 to 3.4. If you meet this criteria, please pick up an application in the counseling office. The applications are due to Mrs. Goller by 3 pm on March 11th.
THE STATE COUNCIL CABRILLO CIVIC CLUB OF CALIFORNIA is offering a $500 scholarship for a senior of Portuguese descent with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. If you meet this criteria, please pick up an application in the counseling office. The applications must be mailed in by March 15th.
SENIORS: If your parent or guardian is a classified staff member of the Hart District, The California School Employees Association is offering a $250 scholarship that is just for you! Please pick up an application in the counseling office. The application is due back to Mrs. Goller by March 7th.
