GENERAL

FINALS SCHEDULE:

Tuesday, December 17 periods 4 and 5

Wednesday, December 18 periods 3 and 6

Thursday, December 19 periods 2 and 7

PLEASE NOTE:  NO STUDENT SUMMONS DURING FINAL EXAMS:  STUDENTS please note, there are NO student summons delivered during Final Exams.  Please do NOT call your parents and ask them to excuse you early for any reason.  The Attendance Office WILL NOT deliver student summons during Final Exams to remove you from class.  ALL students need to stay during the entire final exam period out of respect for all the other classes in exams

PLEASE JOIN Canyon High School’s cast as they present their fall production A NIGHT OF BRITISH COMEDY this Wednesday, December 4^th at 3:15 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday at 7:00 p.m.  The Wednesday show is $5.00 and the rest of the week tickets are $10.00. 

THERE WILL BE A VARSITY FOOTBALL MEETING Wednesday at 2:15 in Room G-210.  This meeting is for all returning, new, and interested football players.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Gutierrez prior to the meeting.

BOYS TENNIS TRYOUTS have been moved to TODAY @ 3.15 pm.

WINTER FORMAL tickets are on sale. Tickets start at $60 w/ASB cards and $70 w/o ASB.  Prices go up Monday, December 9.  Paperwork is available outside ASB.

STUDENTS:  If you have had to change your shirt due to Dress Code Violations and have NOT picked up your shirts/tops before winter break they will be discarded.

MEETINGS

“A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY” will be having a general meeting TODAY at lunch in room D-4. We will be discussing our upcoming talent show so please come at the beginning of lunch to hear about this exciting event and to sign-up to help us!

ANIME CLUB is meeting today at lunch in room G-220

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB and YU-GI-OH Club meet every Wednesday and Friday and G-117.  Bring your lunch. Questions ask Mr. Clark

SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM will be meeting every Wednesday at lunch in room E-5.

BIBLE CLUB--Every Thursday at lunch, the Bible Club will meet in the A Lecture Hall.  We'll have food and great discussions about the Bible and life.  Come and meet some great people and be part of this exciting club!

DFYIT meeting in room E4 at lunch on Thursday - grab your lunch and come join us!

HEY COWBOYS! There is a GSA Meeting next Thursday in Room C-4 at lunch! It’s a pot luck so please bring some food if you can, if you can’t anyone is still welcome to come! We will be having a fundraiser on December 16 & 17 at The Habit, come find flyers in Room C-4, B-Lecture, and The counseling office! Come support your GSA and local PFLAG. Also, the next PFLAG Meeting is tomorrow at St. Stephens Church at 7pm!

THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting in G-107 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system on Friday December 6 from 3-7 pm.  New players are welcome!"

SENIORS

SENIORS:  There will be a very important Financial Aid meeting on the late start Wednesday, December 4th, at 8 am in the Q Theater.   If you plan to go to a 2 year, 4 year, or trade school after graduation, you should plan to attend!  Most of our scholarships become available second semester.  We will be handing out an application that will qualify you for at least 15 scholarships that are available to only Canyon students. We will also discuss in detail how to apply for financial aid.  If you can’t make this meeting, make sure to visit the counseling office. 

DIPLOMA NAME LIST:  All seniors need to check the diploma name list posted in the display case outside the Counseling Office to make sure that their name is spelled correctly and that it is their legal name.  If you find an error, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office as soon as possible so that a correction can be made.  Otherwise, your name will appear on your diploma as it is written on this list.  All changes and corrections need to be made by 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013.  Copies of birth certificates are required for all changes!
