GENERAL

CANYON THEATRE PRESENTS: An evening of award winning scenes. The Adventures in Acting Class will present work from their most recent competition at the Repertory East Playhouse in Newhall this Thursday, November 21 at 7 PM. Don't miss this hour of ridiculous comedy and gripping drama. See Mrs. P in the B-Lecture Hall for more info.

BOYS TENNIS TRYOUTS are this Friday 22nd, at 3.15 pm. Sign up with Coach Yong in room F-1.  All returners must still come to tryout. Please bring your own racket.

HEY COWBOYS—NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY is having a school wide Toy Drive for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Earn community service by helping a patient in need this Holiday Season.  Two big toys are 1 hour and 4 small toys are 1 hour.  Please bring donations to C-1.   There is a max of 3 hours per person. 

BASEBALL TRYOUTS will be held after school on Wed and Thursday ...November 20th and 21st...stop by room B-5 if you need more information.

HEALTH OFFICE:  When you are ill, you must get a pass from your teacher to come up to the Health Office.  It is there that contact will be made with your parents/guardians to arrange for you to go home.  Do not call or text your parents or guardians from the classroom expecting to be summoned to the Health Office. 

ASB APPLICATIONS: Do you love Canyon? Have you been to ISM or Homecoming? Do you want to work behind the scenes for all Canyon events? Join Canyon ASB! Applications are now available online-- www.canyonhighcowboys.org   We do not have any at the ASB Office. Applications are due by

November 27, 2013!

MEETINGS

HEY NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS:  We have a mandatory meeting on Thursday in C-1 at lunch.

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB and YU-GI-OH Club meet every Wednesday and Friday and G-117.  Bring your lunch. Questions ask Mr. Clark

BELIEVE CLUB:  Is meeting TODAY at lunch in room F-2.

SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM will be meeting TODAY at lunch in room E-5.

Bible Club--Every Thursday at lunch, the Bible Club will meet in the A Lecture Hall.  We'll have food and great discussions about the Bible and life.

HEY S.O.S. members! There is a meeting TODAY at lunch in G-217. We hope to see you there!

Do you want to live an alcohol/drug free lifestyle?  Do you want to surround yourself with others who feel the same?  Join DYFIT!  The club meets alternate Thursdays in E4 at lunch - grab your lunch and come join us!  Next meeting is this Thursday the 21st!

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES:  There is a meeting this Friday in room G-206 at lunch.  We will be having pizza so come check it out!!

Hello all GSA members!  We would like to give our apologies for the cancelation of Monday’s meeting.  The meeting will now be MONDAY, November 25 at lunch in room C-4. 

SENIORS

SENIORS:  Asian Pacific Fund Scholarship is offering up to $1000 each for 10 California residents of Asian descent. All scholarships are supported by individual donors and have eligibility criteria set by the donors.  For information about all the Asian Pacific Fund scholarships, please visit http://www.apcf.org/what-we-do/110. The application deadline is January 31, 2014.

SENIORS:  There will be a very important Financial Aid meeting on the late start Wednesday, December 4th, at 8 am in the Q Theater.   If you plan to go to a 2 year, 4 year, or trade school after graduation, you should plan to attend!  Most of our scholarships become available second semester.  We will be handing out an application that will qualify you for at least 15 scholarships that are available to only Canyon students. We will also discuss in detail how to apply for financial aid.  If you can’t make this meeting, make sure to visit the counseling office. 

DO YOU HAVE A 3.75 GPA?  Did you know that you can go to Southwestern Oregon Community College FOR FREE if you have a 3.75 GPA!  And if you don't, they do NOT charge out-of-state tuition, so it is still VERY affordable!  This small college of 3,000 is in Coos Bay on the beautiful southern Oregon coast.  They do offer on-campus housing.  So, perhaps, you might want to check it out!

SENIORS: Utah State University offers 150 majors and has many top programs including engineering.  It can be affordable in many ways, including becoming a WUE student for the first year and applying for state residency for the second year and beyond.  With residency, room/board and tuition, etc. is estimated to be $12,000/year.
