GENERAL
ATTENTION COWBOYS:....Please be aware that any Halloween costumes that will be worn at school cannot violate dress code policy. Shorts and skirts cannot be excessively short and shirts cannot show your midriff. In addition, costumes cannot be excessively gory or bloody. Lastly, you cannot wear any masks at school.
ATTENTION STUDENTS: Ms. Bacon will be serving as a substitute for Counselor Ross Pollack. If you normally work with Mr. Pollack, please stop by and introduce yourself to Ms. Bacon and let her know how she can help.
CLASS RING ORDER: JUNIORS! It’s time for your class to order their class rings. Your class ring will rank high in the commemoratives of your 2015 High School Graduation.

Also, EVERY JUNIOR ordering on these order days will receive a FREE 2015 Companion Ring!!
We will personally size every student’s finger at the order table!! See you there!!
There is a TOUR OF HENRY MAYO scheduled for Monday, October 28 from 3:30-5:00 for students interested in the medical/health sciences field. See Mrs. King in room G-105 or Mr. d’Autremont in the main office for more information and permission slips.

ATTENTION JUNIORS: Would you like to be a licensed cosmetologist and save thousands of dollars? Applications are now available for the ROP Cosmetology Program at Newberry School of Beauty. Please see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office for program information. The application deadline is November 1st.

ANY ENVIROMENTALISTS OUT THERE? If so, come to the L.E.A.F. Club meeting in room F-4 on Monday’s at lunch. If you can’t make the meeting, but would like to do the volunteer work, contact Mr. Motherspaw. Hope to see you at our first meeting Monday, October 14.
POKEMON X AND Y. Come out October 14 to celebrate and compete to be a Pokemon master! Pokemon club is in B-6 during lunch on Mondays.
SENIORS
SENIORS: THE RONALD MC DONALD HOUSE CHARITIES of Southern California will fund 109 scholarships to high school seniors this year as part of an ongoing commitment to education. If you are a legal U.S. resident with a minimum 2.7 GPA, you may apply! Go to www.rmhc.org for the application. January 21, 2014 is the application deadline.
SENIORS: ASIAN PACIFIC FUND SCHOLARSHIP is offering up to $1000 each for 10 California residents of Asian descent. All scholarships are supported by individual donors and have eligibility criteria set by the donors. For information about all the Asian Pacific Fund scholarships, please visit http://www.apcf.org/what-we-do/110 . The application deadline is January 31, 2014.
USC is coming to CHS! If you are applying to USC, please come to an information meeting Wed., Oct. 30th during 5th period (12:08 to 12:48) or during the first few minutes of lunch, in H-1.
