CHOIR CABARET CONCERT--Attention cowboys and cowgirls, Canyon Choirs Annual Cabaret Concert will be held on October 1st and 2nd at 7:30 p.m. This year’s Cabaret theme will be an Old West Review. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 with an asb card and $7 without. You can buy tickets from Mrs. Purdy all this week in the A-Lecture hall. Come to Golden Valley to see your favorite choir kids do what they do best.
THE CHILD AND FAMILY CENTER is hosting "TEEN NIGHT" for teens to ask questions on:
For teens between 13 and 17 years old
Ask questions about:
Bullying, Peer Pressure and How to Deal With Stress (and how things might affect esteem, depression, and/or eating disorders)
Child & Family Center therapists, Soraya Avalos and Holly Raridon will answer the questions you’ve wanted to ask, and provide information about the issues that teens face each day.
Snacks will be provided!

MATH HONOR SOCIETY! Check out the Mu Alpha Theta list to see if you are in the Math Honor Society. Lists are located in the library and near G216. If you made it in, please stop by G216 on Thursday or Friday to elect your officers. The list of officers and their responsibilities will be available on Monday at G216. So come by this week to see if you are part of the Mu Alpha Theta team! Our first official meeting is Tuesday, October 1st at lunch in G216. We'll start at 12:30 so grab lunch first and come on up.
S.O.S. MEMBERS: Hey S.O.S. members, if you wanted to apply for an officer position, applications are due Wednesday in G-217.
MEETINGS
ANIME CLUB is meeting today at lunch in room G-220.
OPERATION US: Completed permission slips are due no later than Wednesday Sept. 25th at the end of lunch. Bring them to Ms. Mast in E3 if you have not already. Our training day is this Friday Sept. 27th. We will meet at the front of the school at 8 AM.
KEY CLUB—There is a Mandatory meeting Wednesday, September 25 in S-4. Attendance will be taken.
STUDENT TASK FORCE is a human right's club that is working to improve the rights of others in our world. We will be meeting TODAY at lunch in G-201.
BIBLE CLUB--Every Thursday at lunch, the Bible Club will meet in the A Lecture Hall. We'll have food and great discussions about the Bible and life. Come and meet some great people and be part of this exciting club!
First official DFYIT meeting will be held at lunch Thursday, September 26. Bring your lunch and join us in Room E4 - come join the fun - DFYIT is more than just a club, if is a lifestyle choice!
FCA MEETING is this Friday at lunch in room G206. Come meet new friends and enjoy some pizza. Let’s start this year off right. Hope to see you there.
GSA is having another meeting on October 3 in room C-4. It’s another pot luck meeting so bring some food if you can! If you can’t anyone is welcome to stop by and join the fun! This week’s topic is all about relationships and love. Hope to see you there!
SENIORS
SENIORS! The California State University (CSU) is proud to host its third annual CSU College Night TONIGHT from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm, at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green Street, Pasadena, CA 91101. Please take advantage of this once a year opportunity to meet and speak with representatives from all 23 CSU campuses. Informative workshops regarding admissions, financial aid, and the CSU Mentor application will also be offered! This free event is open to students, parents, families, and educators. (NOTE: Parking at the Pasadena Convention Center is $10/vehicle.)
ATTENTION SENIORS! All seniors in the Hart District are encouraged to participate in a speech scholarship competition sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association. The topic for the competition is: "How should the United States Immigration Policies be Reformed and Implemented?"
All interested students must submit a written copy of their speech by the October 4th deadline to Canyon's Counseling Office. (There is a max. time limit for the speech of 5 minutes.) Prizes are $750, $500 & $250. Please see the flyers in the Counseling Office for more information.
