HOODIES, SWEATSHIRTS, CANYON SWAY, WARM CLOTHING. It's here. Come down to the student store and pick up a nice new and warm CHS hoodie before they sell out. They come in Grey, White, and Green. Student Store is where it's at.
LOST GUITAR--a guitar was left out on the tennis courts on Monday. There is a reward for the person who returns it--no questions asked. Please return it as soon as possible.
DO YOU VOLUNTEER A LOT? Would you like to win a trip to Washington DC and $1,000? The 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Award honors students would make a difference by volunteering. Application deadline is November 5th. NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY: Attention all NEHS Officer Applicants. Officer applications are due no later than Tuesday, September 17 in C-1.
MEETINGS
A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY is having its first meeting of the year TODAY in room D-4 at lunch. All returning members should attend and new members are welcome. Please attend if you are interested in raising money for local charities.
BIBLE CLUB--Every Thursday at lunch, the Bible Club will meet in the A Lecture Hall. We'll have food and great discussions about the Bible and life. Come and meet some great people and be part of this exciting club!
ATENCION! ATENCION! First Spanish Honor Society meeting of the year is TODAY at lunch in room D-6. If you are in or have completed AP Spanish you are eligible to join this prestigious National organization. Join the fun! See you Thursday in D-6---Hasta Pronto!
HELPING HANDS is having an orientation today at the Canyon Country Library at 3:30. If you don't come you will not be allowed to tutor.
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES meeting Friday at lunch in room G-206. Come enjoy some food and get to know many individuals. Hope to see you there it will be a lot of fun!
THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting in room G-107 from 3 to 7 on Friday to play. If you like Fantasy RPGs like world of warcraft, final fantasy, or kingdom hearts, come by to check it out. New players are welcome.

NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY applicants, if you were unable to attend last week’s meeting and still want to apply pick up an application by TODAY in C-1. All applications are due to C-1 no later than Friday September 13th.
SENIORS
ATTENTION SENIORS! All seniors in the Hart District are encouraged to participate in a speech scholarship competition sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association. The topic for the competition is: "How should the United States Immigration Policies be Reformed and Implemented?"
All interested students must submit a written copy of their speech by the October 4th deadline to Canyon's Counseling Office. (There is a max. time limit for the speech of 5 minutes.) Prizes are $750, $500 & $250. Please see the flyers in the Counseling Office for more information.
