CANYON’S very own Econ teacher Mr. Smith will have his new release WINGER available for signing and purchase at the first Summer Meltdown fundraiser of the year at the Valencia Barnes and Noble Book fair on Friday, August 23 from 4-7pm. Meet local authors, and help raise funds for YES I CAN!
TEXTBOOK CENTER: Textbook Damage Forms are due by Friday, Sept 6th. Drop them in the blue crates in the library or textbook center. If you have lost yours from registration see Mrs. Kulesz to get another. Don’t get stuck paying for someone else’s damage, return your form.
CSF - Applications for CSF (California Scholarship Federation) will be available from TODAY to Friday Aug. 30 in the library. You can also access the application online through the library website. Look for the CSF link on the left side of the web page.
SAFE RIDES: Do you want to save lives and be involved in supporting our community? If so, then Safe Rides can help you. There will be training for new volunteers Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 am in the Activity Center on Centre Pointe Parkway - by the Skate Park. For more information go to scvsaferiders.com

ROP Classes begin TODAY: Students taking an ROP class this semester need to stop by the ROP office to pick up your enrollment for the first day of class.
ROP Open Classes: We still have openings in the following ROP classes - Career Internship, Business Essentials, Construction Technology, Event Planning, Entertainment, Financial Essentials, Infant/Toddler Care, Interior Design, Plumbing, School Age Child Care, and Virtual Enterprise. For more information or to sign up, stop by the ROP office.
ROP: Learn about a career field by taking the ROP Career Internship class this Fall. Students complete an unpaid internship at a local business and earn class credit while gaining career experience. The class starts on Sept. 9 and there is still time to sign up. The class is available to students 16 and older. See your ROP Specialist or the ROP website (www.hartrop.com) for details. Applications must be turned into your ROP Specialist by 8/28.
SPORTS TRY OUTS
BOYS' BASKETBALL TRYOUTS will take place TODAY, Monday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 21 after school in the main gym from 3-4. If you have any questions please stop by G-208 and speak with Coach De Long.
GIRLS' SOCCER TRYOUTS will take place TODAY, Monday, August 19, 20 & 21 from 3:30 - 5:00 at Sierra Vista. If you have any questions please see the website or stop by G-202 and speak with Coach Rusk.
TRYOUTS FOR GIRLS TENNIS is TODAY, Monday, August 19th and Tuesday 20th, 3.15 pm at the tennis courts. Please bring your own racket.
GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS will be held this week on Tuesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 22 in the main gym from 3:00-4:30.
