GENERAL
HEY COWBOYS!! Next week is SPRING SPIRIT WEEK! Monday is Beach Day, Tuesday is Tie Day, Wednesday is College t-shirt day, Thursday is Disney Day and Friday is Blue vs. Pink day. Monday –Thursday there will be lunchtime activities dedicated to these themes. Come check it out and win some pizza.
ASVAB RESULTS MEETING: If you took the ASVAB test in March, please report to the Library at the beginning of 4th period TODAY for the ASVAB test results/interpretation. You must bring the pass that was sent to you in one of your classes yesterday.
THE DANCE TEAM will be having their end-of-the-year show May 11th. Do you want to give a "Shout Out" to one of the dancers? You CAN for only $3! So in 15 words or less, let your favorite dancer know how awesome they are. Come by Mrs. Denny's room G216 to pick up an order form. Remember $3 gets you 15 words in the Dance Showcase program. Orders are due by May 2nd so don't delay!
THE CANYON HIGH THEATRE is having a fund raiser TODAY at SHAVE-IT Valencia! It is located on the Patios at the mall. Bring in a flyer before 5:00 pm---AFTER 5:00 pm until midnight they will honor your Canyon ID OR a flyer!
YEARBOOK STAFF APPLICATIONS DUE: This is your final chance to apply for the 2014 yearbook staff. We are still looking for some freshmen and sophomores candidates to become part of the yearbook team for next year. Learn photography, design, and leadership skills while creating a part of Canyon history for 2014. Get an application from Mr. McCann in the T building or your counselor.

ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS: YES I CAN is collecting submissions to be displayed at the Summer Meltdown Arts and Music Festival on May 4th at the Santa Clarita Skate park and Field. If interested, stop by C 3 and speak with Ms. Lamedman, ask your art teacher, or talk to Enrique Gallagos, Austin Leinbach, Katie Hermosura, or David Ponce. Showcase your art or enter contests.

NEWS FROM SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY--Kaplan will be presenting an ACT/SAT practice test session at Valencia Library Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m.- 2p.m. This program is FREE! FREE! FREE! for High School Students. Personal Follow up will allow those tested and their parents/caregivers to learn how they did and provide testing advice. ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS! There is a mandatory HUGE DFY IT meeting TODAY in room D8. There will be information and huge event! Please be there at lunch this Friday the 26th in room D8. Also bring your community service hours to turn in. See you there!
THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting TODAY from three to seven pm in K4 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system. New players are welcome, and please stop by to sign up and reserve a place at a table.
CHECKMATE CHESS CLUB and other board games will meet at Lunch in G-117. Bring your lunch and enjoy the game of kings, queens, presidents, military leaders, and people all around the world. OPERATION US: We will be having our last meeting of the year on Wednesday May 1st at lunch in E3. All members are encouraged to attend! Club officers and Operation US seniors, please see Ms. Mast ASAP if you will not be at the meeting.
SENIORS
SENIORS, Graduation speech auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 7, from 1-4 in the Administration building. Information and signups are at Ms. Liedblad's desk, just outside the AP offices. Time slots are available on a first come first served basis. Represent the Class of 2013!
SENIORS: Are you of Filipino ancestry with a 3.5 GPA? If so, there is a $1000 scholarship that you might qualify for! Please pick up an application in the counseling office. The scholarship deadline is May 10th.
SENIORS: Are you planning to attend CSUN next year? There are scholarships specifically for you. Please pick up a paper in the counseling office with all the information. The deadline to apply is May 3rd, and some require a letter of recommendation, so make sure to stop by TODAY!
WERE YOU ACCEPTED TO ATTEND UCLA NEXT YEAR? The Santa Clarita Bruins are offering a $500 dollar scholarship. Please pick up your application in the counseling office. Applications must be post marked by May 4th.
THE SEIJI ISOMOTO SCHOLARSHIP FUND is offering a $1000 scholarship. To apply you must have a 3.0 GPA, have at least one parent that is Asian, and have lettered in a high school varsity sport. Applications are available in the counseling office.
THE CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION has $500 scholarships available for CSF seal bearers. Please stop by the library to pick up the scholarship application instructions. The submission deadline for all applicants is May 17th.
