ACADEMY OF THE CANYONS: Make a change and be a part of a unique, rewarding high school experience! If you would like to learn more about Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, you and your parents are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, February 27 in the COC University Center Room 258 at 7:00 p.m.
Are you a JUNIOR? Are you interested in attending a 5-day Youth Citizenship Seminar at Pepperdine University (in Malibu) this summer (June 17th to June 21st)? If you would like to be nominated for this leadership opportunity, please give your see your counselor. Canyon can nominate up to two boys and two girls for this summer leadership program.
Are you thinking about getting a summer job? Valley Trails Summer Camp is hiring for Camp Counselors, Lifeguards, Specialists, and more! MEETINGS
ALL OPERATION US members need to meet TODAY at lunch, in room E-3. We have a few things to discuss for the end of the year.
CALLING ALL SCIENCE GEEKS!! Canyon High's Chemistry Club is now forming, come to K-5 on Wednesday (that's right, WEDNESDAY!) at lunch to find out more. Chemistry is the coolest thing going just ask Mr. Nelson, Mr. Milasich or Mr. Downs.
BIBLE CLUB--Come to the Bible Club on Thursday at lunch in the choir room. Get some food and enjoy some time with other students. Everyone is welcome.
THE ROLEPLAYING CLUB will be meeting this Friday from 3 to 7 in K-4 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system. New players are welcome.
SAVE THE DATE...the next GSA (GAY/STRAIGHT ALLIANCE) Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 28th during lunch in A-Lecture Hall.
SENIORS
LAST CALL FOR ALL SENIOR AND THEIR PARENTS - to get any of their pre-college questions answered! College Planning Experts will be here to answer your individual questions about completing the FAFSA (due March 2nd - this is the form needed to ask for financial aid from any college), the DREAM ACT, and to show you how to read your financial award letter! And more! Bring YOUR questions! This is time to get them answered! THIS Wednesday, February 20th, in the library at 7pm.
SENIORS!!! Did you want to attend a 4-year college but have not applied anywhere yet? Arizona State University is still take applications for their Lake Havasu campus. Some degree options are: Communication, General Studies, Life Sciences (Biology), Organizational Leadership, and Psychology. Tuition runs about $9,000 a year and rooms are $4,950. For NEW full-time students apply for $1,000 scholarship through Havasu Foundation of Higher Educations Scholarships. Their requirements are very similar to the A-G, with a 3.0 GPA requirement (or be in the top 25% of your class). Must have a 24 on the ACT or 1110 on the SAT. SENIORS: If you plan to study in a field related to education after graduation there is 500 dollar scholarship for you. Please pick up an application for the SCV Education Foundation scholarship in the counseling office.
