GENERAL
Fri Feb 15th is the Boys' Basketball teams 1st round CIF Playoff game. They play at Lawndale at 7pm. On Saturday is our Girls 1st Round Playoff Game. They Play Channel Islands at 7pm at Canyon. Because this is a CIF contest, ASB cards do not provide free admission. General admission is $8 and Students with a school ID pay $5. Come out and Support your Boys' and Girls' programs.
TODAY is the last day to buy your Val-o-gram! Don't miss out on this opportunity to show someone special that you care. For $7, your special someone will receive a song sung during 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th period, a flower and a chocolate lollipop. Canyon is the only place that they can receive this special treatment! Come to the choir room or see a choir member to purchase your Val-o-gram! They will not be available for purchase after Tuesday!

SENIORS
CALLING ALL MEN! Don’t forget to register for Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Registering keeps you eligible for financial aid, government jobs and job training. It’s quick. It’s easy. And it’s the law. To register in less than 2 minutes, go to www.sss.gov.
SENIORS - If you are interested in learning about Charter College, please sign up in the Counseling Office. Charter College will here on Wednesday, Feb. 13th, during 5th period. Have pizza and spend about 30 minutes learning about their program. This is a vocational college here in Canyon Country.
THE SANTA CLARITA EMBLEM CLUB is offering the Vi Athenstead Scholarship worth 800 to 1000 dollars. There are four scholarships to be awarded. There is no GPA qualifier. Any senior with community service should apply. The applications are in the counseling office and must be mailed in by February 15th
SENIORS: If you plan to study in a field related to education after graduation there is 500 dollar scholarship for you. Please pick up an application for the SCV Education Foundation scholarship in the counseling office.
SENIORS: ARE YOU ATTENDING COC IN THE FALL? If you are, please come to the A-Lecture Hall on Tuesday, February 12th at lunch, where a representative from COC will be explaining their FYE program. The First-Year Experience Program was designed to assist students with the difficult transition from high school to college. Students who apply to the FYE program will participate in FYE Orientation Days, benefit from FYE designated classes and workshops, have faculty mentors and receive early registration and guaranteed enrollment for the fall semester for a total of 12 units! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to start college off right! Please join us in the A-Lecture Hall on Tuesday, February 12th at lunch to learn more.
