GENERAL

 

PARKING PERMITS:  Parking permits are on sale in the ASB Office for Juniors and Seniors ONLY for $10. 

 

ATTENTION, ATTENTION ALL SENIORS AND JUNIORS:  Sign-ups for the Prom Fashion Show are starting NOW.  Paperwork is available outside of the ASB Office.  Sign-ups will end February 1.  First come first serve.

 

PSAT TEST RESULTS HERE:  You may pick up your PSAT test results during brunch, lunch or after school in the Counseling Office.  See Mrs. Hettema.

 

LIBRARY: Have you checked the due date of your library book? You can find it inside the front cover. Remember to return or renew your books on time and avoid annoying fines that start to add up quickly. The book drop is located inside the library at the circulation desk.

 

THE BOYS VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM is looking for Freshmen Boys' who might be interest in playing on the Freshmen Boys' Volleyball team for the upcoming Spring season.  If you are interested, please come by G-116 for further details. 

 

ROP CLASSES begin this week.  If you signed up for an ROP class, stop by the ROP office to pick up your first day papers.  Don't risk being dropped from your ROP class.

 

There are still openings in some ROP classes.  Stop by the ROP office for a list of available classes.

 

WINTER FORMAL: How did you ask your man?  Send your pictures and videos to [email protected].  They will be used in a slide show on formal night.  Also, it is not too late to ask.  This is the last week to buy a ticket.  $90 a couple, or $45 a person. 

 

HEALTH OFFICE:  When you are ill, you must get a pass from your teacher to come up to the Health Office.  It is there that contact will be made with your parents/guardians to arrange for you to go home.  Do not call or text your parents or guardians from the classroom expecting to be summoned to the Health Office. 

 

OPERATION US: We have two presentations coming up very soon! Please return your permission slips to Ms. Mast in E3 ASAP.  If you need a permission slip, please stop by E3 today. We are presenting at Fair Oaks Elementary on Wednesday January 23rd and Thursday January 24th.

 

CSF - Applications for CSF (California Scholarship Federation) will be available TODAY in the library. You can also access the application online through the library website. Look for the CSF link on the left side of the web page. If you have questions, see Mrs. Hermelin in the library.

 

STUDENTS: If you are interested in attending the February Job Fair for Six Flags Magic Mountain, representatives from Six Flags will be on campus Tuesday, January 22nd at both brunches and lunch to give you more information.

 

MEETINGS

 

LATIN DANCE CLUB PRACTICES: The Latin Dance Club is meeting everyday starting this week right after seventh period in room D5. Dancers will start learning new steps for a new song. Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. Hope to see you there.

 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY:  There will be a mandatory NHS meeting next Tuesday, January 22, at lunch in room E-5.  All hours are due at the meeting.

 

SENIORS

 

ON JANUARY 22nd, the COC Financial Aid Office will be conducting a Cash for College workshop for any student who would like information about financial aid.  This workshop is open to the community and is FREE to attend.  No reservations are required. The Cash For College workshop will be held in the Performing Arts Center at 6:30PM.  This information is for ANY student planning to attend a community college, tech school, or 4 year university. 

 

THE SANTA CLARITA VALLEY SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION is offering at least 20 scholarships just for Canyon seniors.  The biggest scholarship is five thousand dollars!  Every senior that needs financial aid should fill out this application!  Applications can be found in the counseling office and are due by February 1st to Mrs. Goller.

 

SENIORS- IF your cumulative GPA is between 2.5 and 3.4 there is a scholarship application available in the Counseling Office for you! Three scholarships for $1000 each will be awarded, so hurry in for an application for the Jacob Zamora Memorial Scholarship today!
