CANYON THEATRE PRESENTS THE FALL PLAY "A Company of Wayward Saints" this Thurs, Fri, and Sat at 7 PM in the Q Theatre. Tickets are $12 or $10 with ASB. ALSO -- there will be a half price sneak preview Wed the 28th after school at 3:15 -- see the show for just $5!

THE SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY welcomes The Hobbit!  To celebrate Santa Clarita Public Library is offering a variety of Hobbit related programs and activities. At all programs there will be a chance to win tickets to a free private library screening of the new movie The Hobbit on December 15th at 10 am at the Valencia Edwards Stadium 12 Theater. Check out the activities on the city library's website. To win tickets you must be present at a program, have a current library card and be at least 13 years of age. To kick off our Hobbit events, Dr. Michael Ward of Oxford University explores the heroism of Bilbo Baggins, Thurs, Nov 29 at 7 pm @ Valencia Library.  Michael Ward is a Senior Research Fellow at Blackfriars Hall in the University of Oxford, author of Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C.S. Lewis. Remember, participation in these events may help you win a ticket to a private screening of The Hobbit!

CHOIR NEWS: Come out to Athena's in Canyon Country today from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to support the choirs.  Have a fabulous meal and help the choirs at the same time.  A percentage of the profits will be given to the choirs.  Bring a big appetite! 

MR CANYON!  The Mr. Canyon contest is Friday, November 30, at 7 p.m. Come watch it if you want to see 12 senior boys strut their stuff.  Tickets are $7 without an ASB card and $5 with ASB card.

HEY KEY CLUBBERS—need hours??  Help a child in need this holiday season, by participating in the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles toy drive.  Please make sure toys are new and sealed for sanitary purposes. Some favorite items are Barbie’s, action figures, coloring books, crayons, markers, journals, and board games.  Bring donations to V-1 before school, after school, or brunch or lunch!

FOOD DAY:  Food Day is this TODAY-- November 28^th!  Bring money and support your Canyon Clubs!

MEETINGS

LATIN DANCE CLUB:  It is going to take place during lunch and after school in room D-5. Anyone is welcome and no experience is required, it is a club to learn the dances.

OPERATION US: Would you like to join us at Valley View Elementary next Tuesday December 4th from 8:15-11:15 AM? If so, come to E3 at lunch this Thursday November 29th to pick up a permission slip and sign up for a job. See you soon!

THE BIBLE CLUB will meet on Thursday at lunch in the choir room.  Everyone is welcome!

THE ROLE PLAYING CLUB will meet from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in K4 this Friday.  We will be playing the Pathfinder Roleplaying system.   New players are welcome.   Sign up this week in K4 for a game.

SENIORS

DIPLOMA NAME LIST:  All seniors need to check the diploma name list posted in the display case outside the Counseling Office to make sure that their name is spelled correctly and that it is their legal name.  If you find an error, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office as soon as possible so that a correction can be made.  Otherwise, your name will appear on your diploma as it is written on this list.  All changes and corrections need to be made by 3:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.  Copies of birth certificates are required for all changes!

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION: On Tuesday, December 4th at lunch in the B-Lecture Hall, the Canyon Counseling Staff will be talking about scholarships.  If you plan to go to a 2 year, 4 year, or trade school after graduation, you should come!  Most of our scholarships become available second semester.  We will be handing out an application that will qualify you for at least 20 local scholarships.
