CANYON SOFTBALL TRYOUTS will be THIS week at the Softball Field. Dates: Tues. - Thurs. (11/13 - 11/15) –Time: 2:30 (registration starts), **Note** Tryouts may continue until 5pm or dusk depending how many girls we get through each day. **Make Up Dates** Mon. - Tues (11/19 & 11/20)
BOYS TENNIS TRYOUTS: All boys interested in playing on the tennis team in the spring need to attend tryouts on November 13-15 (Tuesday through Thursday) on the courts after school. Tryouts should run until 4pm each day.
ATTENTION COWBOYS! The SCV American Red Cross youth corps will be having an emergency kit drive to provide needy families with survival kits that will last 4-7 days. Each high school will be hosting a drive for a specific item needed in these kits. Canyon’s Red Cross club has been assigned to host a drive for books and magazines, new or used, from November 13th-23rd. Please participate and bring your donations to the library. We’ll be also giving community service hours depending on the number of books and magazines you donate. Help save a life cowboys and donate!
INTRAMURAL FOOTBALL. Sign ups for intramural football are taking place this week in room C-5. All our welcome. Please sign up at both brunches and lunch!
STUDENTS: Are you interested in becoming involved in a ‘Major Pathway’? You first may ask, what is a ‘Major Pathway’? Major Pathways are directed courses that will align you with a major in college or a career after you graduate from Canyon High School. We will be offering four ‘Major Pathways’ in the areas of Culinary Arts, Automotive Technology, Health Sciences, and Media and Design Arts. Please pick up a brochure in the Counseling Office or from the Pathway Advisor for more information.
CULINARY ARTS: Today’s highlighted Major Pathway will be Culinary Arts. Are you interested in pursuing a career in Food Services? Maybe being a Food Critic or Food Stylist? Perhaps a Chef or Caterer? You can get experience and prepared for all of these careers by choosing a Major Pathway in Culinary Arts! Please see Ms. Butler in room D3 or go to your Counselor to find out more information on signing up for this Major Pathway.
HEY KEY CLUBBERS—need hours?? Help a child in need this holiday season, by participating in the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles toy drive. Please make sure toys are new and sealed for sanitary purposes. Some favorite items are Barbie’s, action figures, coloring books, crayons, markers, journals, and board games. Bring donations to V-1 before school, after school, or brunch or lunch!
PLEASE RETURN BORROWED Canyon High School "T" Shirts washed & folded in order to pick up your Shirt/Top. "All Dress Code Violation Shirts" left in SRC will be donated to Charity 12/19/2012.
ACADEMIC AWARD RECIPIENTS: If you did not attend the ceremony, please go to the Assistant Principals Office no later than Thursday, December 19 to pick up your award. They will be available before and after school, and during lunch and brunch. Congratulations!

OPERATION US: We will be presenting at Mitchell Elementary on November 30th. Please join us at lunch on Wednesday November 14th in E3 to pick up your permission slip and to help us prepare.

DIPLOMA NAME LIST: All seniors need to check the diploma name list posted in the display case outside the Counseling Office to make sure that their name is spelled correctly and that it is their legal name. If you find an error, please see Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office as soon as possible so that a correction can be made. Otherwise, your name will appear on your diploma as it is written on this list. All changes and corrections need to be made by 3:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. Copies of birth certificates are required for all changes!
