ROP COSMETOLOGY:  Cosmetology applications are due by November 1st no later than 3:00 PM.  Students applying now will have their cosmetology license before graduating from high school.  Don't miss out on an amazing opportunity.  Turn your application in to Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office.

 

HEY SOS MEMBERS or any trick or treaters!  We will be collecting any extra Halloween candy to send to our troops.  If you would like to participate, please drop candy off in room G-217 any time this week.  Community service hours will be offered. 

 

ACADEMIC AWARD RECIPIENTS:  If you did not attend the ceremony, please go to the Assistant Principals Office no later than Thursday, December 19 to pick up your award.  They will be available before and after school, and during lunch and brunch.  Congratulations!

 

 

 

 

HEY COWBOYS!!!  Want to win a brand new car?  Valencia Nissan will be giving away a brand new car to one lucky Hart District student in April of 2013.  Here are the eligibility requirements:

Attendance Percent:  97% or better----Grade Point Average: 2.0 and higher---

Discipline: No out-of-school suspensions or expulsions---Grades: Open to students in 11th and 12th grade

The Eligibility is based on the 2012-2013 school year---Parent must be present to win at drawing is student is under 18.  GOOD LUCK!

 

THE LATIN DANCE CLUB recently had a fundraiser…prize is a dinner for 2 at a local restaurant.  The lucky winner is DONNA HETTEMA, Canyons wonderful Counseling Secretary.

 

SWIM TEAM Tryouts for SPRING Semester 2013 are on November 6th and 8th!! You must tryout to be on the Team!!  Please come by Room T-3 to talk to Coach Himes for more information!

 

NEWS FROM SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY: Kaplan will be presenting a FREE ACT/SAT practice test session at Canyon Country Public Library, on Sat. Nov. 10th 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  Register online at the Santa Clarita Public Library's website www.santaclaritalibrary.com Look for the program in the events calendar.  Remember this session is FREE!

 

MEETINGS

 

THERE IS A meeting of the Latin Dance Club (Folklorico, Cumbia, Banda, Merengue, Bachata and Salsa). It is going to take place during lunch and after school in room D-5. Anyone is welcome and no experience is required, it is a club to learn the dances.

 

FCA CLUB:  FCA has a meeting this Friday at lunch in room G-206.   Come and meet some new people.  There is food provided.  Come check it out.  Everyone is welcome.

 

AMERICAN RED CROSS MEMBERS:  There is a meeting today at lunch in room G-204.  See you there.

 

ATTENTION NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY:  Our next meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 1 at lunch in room AA-4.  If you were at the last meeting we talked about the requirements needed in order to become an officer.  Also, in order to be inducted as a member it is required that a copy of your transcript and your last report card be turned in along with the membership form.  This needs to be turned in by Thursday, Nov. 1 to Mrs. Priesz in room AA-4.

It's time to start preparing for Graduation.  The first step is to order your Cap & Gown, Senior Ring, Graduation Announcements, and other Senior memorabilia.
