HALLOWEEN COSTUMES:  Students, Please remember that you are NOT permitted to wear masks or carry any type of “weapons” as part of Halloween costumes to school.  NONE.  ZERO.  NO. NOT PLASTIC, NOT METAL, NOT FAKE, NOT PRETEND.  NOTHING !!!!  Thank you!!!

 

ACADEMIC AWARD RECIPIENTS:  If you did not attend the ceremony, please go to the Assistant Principals Office no later than Thursday, December 19 to pick up your award.  They will be available before and after school, and during lunch and brunch.  Congratulations!

 

ENTERTAINMENT:  Are you looking to break into the field of entertainment?  ROP Entertainment is a creative course that introduces students to the entertainment industry.  Learn the performing aspect of the business, acting techniques, the audition process, improvisation, commercial auditions, pictures, resumes etc…  You will work under the lights, in front of the camera and attend tapings of television shows.  Stop by the ROP office to sign up today.

 

LIBRARY: Have you checked the due date of your library book? You can find it inside the front cover. Remember to return or renew your books on time and avoid annoying fines that start to add up quickly. The book drop is located inside the library at the circulation desk.

 

HEY COWBOYS!!!  Want to win a brand new car?  Valencia Nissan will be giving away a brand new car to one lucky Hart District student in April of 2013.  Here are the eligibility requirements:

 

Attendance Percent:  97% or better----Grade Point Average: 2.0 and higher---

Discipline: No out-of-school suspensions or expulsions---Grades: Open to students in 11th and 12th grade

The Eligibility is based on the 2012-2013 school year---Parent must be present to win at drawing is student is under 18.  GOOD LUCK!

 

SWIM TEAM Tryouts for SPRING Semester 2013 are on November 6th and 8th!! You must tryout to be on the Team!!  Please come by Room T-3 to talk to Coach Himes for more information!

 

NEWS FROM SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY: Kaplan will be presenting a FREE ACT/SAT practice test session at Canyon Country Public Library, on Sat. Nov. 10th 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  Register online at the Santa Clarita Public Library's website www.santaclaritalibrary.com Look for the program in the events calendar.  Remember this session is FREE!

 

MEETINGS

 

OPERATION US:  Our first presentation is coming up. We will be meeting this Tuesday October 30th in E3 at lunch to prepare. Please bring your completed permission slips with you to the meeting. If you are an Operation US member and you need a slip, see Ms. Mast ASAP.

SENIOR BESTS: Who has the best hair in the senior class? Who is most likely to own their own company? Seniors, log on to tallyspace to nominate your peers for these categories and more. Nominations are open to seniors and are only posted until Friday. Go to tallyspace and nominate today!

 

SENIOR BOYS!!! If you are interested I auditioning for Mr. Canyon, paperwork will be tweeted out and available at the ASB Office.  All paperwork and submissions ARE DUE TODAY—TAKE TO THE ASB Office before 1 pm.
