CANYON FOOTBALL GAMES:  A reminder to students that once you enter the football game and leave, YOU MAY NOT RE-ENTER.  If you need a sweater, blanket etc., remember to bring it in with you when you arrive.  Footballs. Skateboards and scooters are NOT allowed in the stadium or parking lot-DO NOT BRING THEM WITH YOU!!! "Noisemakers are not allowed per CIF regulations and that using Noisemakers and result in a forfeit of the game.  Since this is a school sponsored event, the Canyon High School DRESS CODE will be strictly enforced.  ANY inappropriate attire (clothing, accessories, headgear or body paint) will result in entrance refusal and possible removal if non-compliant.

 

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES:  Students, Please remember that you are NOT permitted to wear masks or carry any type of “weapons” as part of Halloween costumes to school.  NONE.  ZERO.  NO. NOT PLASTIC, NOT METAL, NOT FAKE, NOT PRETEND.  NOTHING !!!!  Thank you!!!

 

SWIM TEAM Tryouts for SPRING Semester 2013 are on November 6th and 8th!! You must tryout to be on the Team!!  Please come by Room T-3 to talk to Coach Himes for more information!

NEWS FROM SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC LIBRARY:

Kaplan will be presenting a FREE ACT/SAT practice test session at  Canyon Country Public Library, on Sat. Nov. 10th 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  Register online at the Santa Clarita Public Library's website www.santaclaritalibrary.com Look for the program in the events calendar.  Remember this session is FREE!

ARTS AND MEDIA:  Are you artistic?  Explore the arts through a variety of ROP classes from including Floristry, Graphic Design, Photography and Screen Printing.  These classes fill quickly.  See Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office to sign up.

 

MEETINGS

 

EQUESTRIAN CLUB meeting Thursday in T-1 at lunch

 

Come join NEHS (NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY).  This is an Honor Society developed for those students who excel in English.  The purpose of this club is to not only celebrate academic achievement in English but to share enthusiasm for the language arts.  You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in English and overall.  You can possibly be eligible for scholarships as well if you meet these requirements.  Our first meeting will be Thursday at lunch in room AA-4.  We will have cookies.  Come check it out!

 

Reminder there is a meeting of the Latin Dance Club (Folklorico, Cumbia, Banda, Merengue, Bachata and Salsa). It is going to take place during lunch and after school in room D-5. Anyone is welcome and no experience is required, it is a club to learn the dances.

 

GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance) Meeting during lunch on Thursday, October 25th in A-Lecture Hall. See you there!

THE ROLE PLAYING CLUB will be meeting after school on Friday in K4 to play the pathfinder roleplaying system.  New players are welcome to come.

 

CANYON SPRING MUSICAL: An informational meeting will be held about auditions for the spring musical on Monday October 29th during lunch in the Q-Theatre. It is HIGHLY recommended that you attend if you wish to audition.

 

ATTENTION AMERICAN RED CROSS club members, our next meeting will be Thursday, October 25 at lunch in room G-204.  See you there.
