SWIM TEAM Tryouts for SPRING Semester 2013 are on November 6th and 8th!! You must tryout to be on the Team!!

THEATRE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" this Saturday October 20th in the Q-Theatre. Showtimes are 1 PM and 3 PM. Tickets are $5 or $3 with ASB card. Don't miss it!

 

GOODWILL DONATIONS:  The Dance Team is collecting donations for Goodwill !  Do you have old clothes, books, computer monitors,  CDs, or DVDs that you want to clear out of your room?  Bring them to the Goodwill Donation Truck parked in the big parking lot on Saturday, October 20th.  Yes, that's THIS Saturday!  The truck will be here from 10 am to 4 p.m.   If you have any questions see Mrs. Denny in G216 or any dance team member.  Thanks for giving!

Anyone interested in playing on the BOYS GOLF TEAM in spring must come to a meeting TODAY at lunch in room B-4 for information regarding tryouts.

 

COSMETOLOGY APPLICATIONS:  Current Juniors interested in starting the cosmetology program in the spring need to pick up an application from Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office.  The application deadline is November 1st at 3:00 PM.  Don't miss out on this rewarding opportunity.  Stop by the ROP office today.

 

CHILD DEVELOPMENT & PSYCHOLOGY: Infant Care (ages 0-2 years), Child Care (ages 2-5 yrs) and School Age Child Care (ages 5-12 yrs) are a variety of ROP elective courses offering students a variety of age development courses.  See Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office today to sign up.

 

STUDENTS, are you thinking about attending COC or other community college when you graduate?  The Canyon Counseling department has created an important informational meeting for you.  Counselors from COC will be coming to discuss programs that will help you!   The meeting will be on TODAY at 7 pm in the A-lecture hall.  This meeting is open to ALL grade levels.  If you would like to come, please see Mrs. Goller in the counseling office to sign up.

 

MEETINGS

 

Anyone interested in playing on the BOYS GOLF TEAM in spring must come to a meeting TODAY at lunch in room B-4 for information regarding tryouts.

 

BRAINSTORMERS:  We are meeting today in G216 at lunch to play Brainstormers.  If you don't know what Brainstormers is, come by to try out this fun trivia game.

 

HEY COWBOYS!  We are having an Impact meeting this Thursday, October 18th, at lunch in E5.  We will discuss possible future charity and community service projects.  New members are always welcome--see you there!

 

The BIBLE STUDY CLUB will meet TODAY at lunch in the choir room.  Everyone is welcome!

 

OPERATION US: Our first presentation is on November 1st! We will be meeting in E3 at lunch TODAY to prepare and pass out permission slips. All members are encouraged to attend.

 

ATTENTION AMERICAN RED CROSS MEMBERS:  Our next meeting will be TODAY at lunch in room G204.  New members are always welcome.  We will have cookies.  See you there!!!

 

DFY IT Club is still accepting members!  We are half way there with a goal of 50 committed members.  There will be a recruitment meeting in H-1 on Friday October 19th at BRUNCH.  Already a member? Please come as well and bring someone with you to join!  The goal of this club is to educate and support.  We welcome everyone and anyone who wants to be a part of or needs support for living a drug free life.  Please see Ms. Krurmrich in PE for more information if needed.  Otherwise, looking forward to seeing existing and NEW members to the DFY IT Recruitment Meeting on October 19th at BRUNCH in H-1. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SENIORS

 

Are you interested in attending Johnson & Wales University?  Seniors - if you are meeting the A-G requirements and since you are from California you may apply for FREE and additionally you will get an automatic $5,000 Bonus off the price of tuition for the year, renewable each year.  Additionally, their average student received $20,000 in aid last year.  They have four campuses:  Florida, Colorado, Rode Island, and South Carolina. Look them up on-line and if you have any questions you make contact [email protected] as well.

 

Each year some colleges have Open Houses or Preview Days where you can come and visit the campus and participate in a variety of events and also learn about their programs.

Are you planning to apply to any of the UC schools?  If so, you might want to attend the UCLA workshop.  The presenter will go over the UC Application and Personal Statement for ANY of the UC schools.  You must sign up in the Counseling Office before this workshop.  You should have a copy of your transcript (you can print them from the Campus Portal) with you for the UCLA workshop.
