GENERAL

STUDENTS, ARE YOU INTERESTED IN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE OF SERVICE?  Box City is an event held on 9/29/12 in Bridgeport Park.  Participants sleep overnight in a cardboard box "home" to increase awareness of homelessness and raise money to support Family Promise of SCV.  The event will include bands, food, and t-shirts for participants who raise at least $100.  Students under the age of 18 need a chaperone.  This is a great service opportunity for groups or individuals.  More information is available at http://www.scvboxcity.org or you can see Dr. Keyne in the office.

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE DUE DATE OF YOUR LIBRARY BOOK? You can find it inside the front cover. Remember to return or renew your books on time and avoid annoying fines that start to add up quickly. The book drop is located inside the library at the circulation desk.

COWBOYS: Did you receive a Leadership invitation letter? If you did, attendance at the informational meeting TODAY at lunch in the A-Lecture Hall, is MANDATORY! We look forward to seeing you there!

ATTENTION MEMBERS OF “A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY.” Remember that money for t-shirts is due TODAY in room D-4. Please have your money turned in by lunch time on Friday.

“DFYIT” (Drug Free Youth in Town) is a free, school-based, voluntary, anti-drug Club for high school teens. In DFYIT, teens thrive, drug free, in a Club run by kids, for kids. The goal is to provide a positive peer network that supports healthy choices and a drug-free lifestyle. School personnel and city staff work with teen leaders (Club officers) on local high school campuses to develop, coordinate, and supervise on-campus events, community service projects and educational workshops that promote a drug free lifestyle.  On campus Club meetings are held regularly to discuss drug-related issues and to highlight local supportive services. Our first meeting is Monday September 24th in the Auxiliary gym.  Bring yourself and maybe even a friend to get involved and have fun.

Any questions?  See Ms. Krumrich down in Phys. Ed. land.
