Are you interested in a MILITARY APPOINTMENT for college? So if you are considering Annapolis, West Point, The Air Force Academy, the Coast Guard Academy, or the Merchant Marine Academy, Congressman Buck McKeon will host a special event for you and your parents to answer all of your questions on Wed., September 12th from 7-9 pm at COC in the Dianne G Van Hook University Center. Learn about the application for appointment, nomination, selection, and daily life at the academies. HEY COWBOYS!! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Wm. S. Hart School District’s second annual College and Career Fair on Thursday evening, September 13th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the gymnasium at Golden Valley High School. This free event is open to all high school students in the district, but is most appropriate for juniors and seniors.
Representatives from 2-year and 4-year universities, career technical schools and apprenticeship programs will be participating. In addition to the fair, workshops on financial aid, Exploring the UC & CSU systems, Out-of-State College and freshmen admissions, Community College Programs and career preparation will be offered.

MEETINGS
Operation US: Operation US is having our first meeting of the year Wednesday Sept. 12th at lunch in E-3. The purpose of Operation US is to have high school students train 6th grade students to better understand the importance of diversity, understanding the feelings of others, and to prevent bullying. Operation US trains high school volunteers to go to the 6th grade students and teach them the value getting along with people in their school and community. If you would like to get involved in this rewarding community service club, join us at our first meeting! All are welcome.
ATTENTION ALL COWBOYS: Are you looking for a new club to join? Do you want to help sponsor a child in need and participate in various charity and community projects? Come join IMPACT CLUB! The first meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, September 12, at lunch in E-5. Bring your friends and we will see you there!
