GENERAL
THE LIBRARY will be closed TODAY from 7:00-1:00 for AP Calculus Testing. The library will be closed TOMORROW AND FRIDAY from 2nd period on for a ModCiv project. Students will not have access to the computer lab or textbooks at this time.
AP TESTING: During AP Testing there will be NO paging or announcements made over the PA system.
TENNIS PRE-TRY-OUTS for all interested students are Thursday 2-3:30. If you cannot make it till 3 that’s fine come down and learn what you will need in order to make it one the team! Coach Anie will be down at the courts!
SUMMER INTERNSHIPS FOR 9th, 10th, and 11th GRADERS
The ROP Career Internship class is having a summer class from 6/18 - 7/18. Students complete an unpaid workplace internship in order to learn about a career field. Students work from 4 - 12 hours a week and earn class credit. They work at the internship site and attend class each week. Students must attend all class dates. Students will be chosen who have a good record of grades, attendance, and behavior. Students must provide their own transportation. To enroll, students need to ROP application and return to their ROP advisor by May 17. See ROP advisor for details or the website: www.hartrop.com, Career Internship class.
CURRENT JUNIORS: Senior Parking Spot information is now available outside of ASB. Don’t miss out on your chance to get a personalized spot. Paperwork is due by May 18.
MORE FOR CURRENT JUNIORS: Senior Shirt information is also outside of ASB. Help create the design for the 2013 Senior Shirt. Paperwork is due before Summer break.
DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS ARE MAY 12TH!!!! If you did not go to the meeting last night, you are missing very important information!!! Including a Permission Form to tryout. You may not tryout without it!!! If you want to tryout, and did not attend the meeting last night, come to G-220, Mrs. Arnold's room...that's G-220 to get the information during lunch by Tuesday May 8th!
DO YOU LIKE ARCADE GAMES OR GO-CART RACING? If so, come to Mountasia on Friday, May 11 from 6-9 pm, to support Canyon Key Club. If more than 75 people attend we get 50% of the funds collected! So bring your friends and family and join us for a super fun night!

GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance) Meeting during lunch on Thursday, May 10th in A-Lecture Hall. See you there!
SENIORS
ALL KEY CLUB SENIORS: Please remember that you need to turn in your hours sheet no later than May 14th!! They need to be turned in Prior to receiving your sash for Senior Recognition Night!
SENIORS!! It's the final call...if you still need to order your cap & gown the deadline is Friday, May 11th. Please order online at www.Seniorgrads.com OR pick up a late form from the Activities Office NOW. When it's too late, it's too late!
SENIOR SURVEY: If you did not get a chance to complete the senior survey, please come to the counseling office and pick up the form. These surveys were passed out in the Government and Econ classes so if you’re not currently in either of these classes, you did not get one. This form is necessary to track what our seniors do after graduation, and this information is reported to our district office. Please see Mrs. Hettema in the counseling office as soon as possible to get a copy.
ATTENTION CSF SEALBEARERS-You have the opportunity to apply for a $500 Canyon High School Chapter Scholarship. Stop by the library to pick up an application. Applications are also available on the CSF page of the library's website. The due date for submitting your completed application is Thursday, May 17th. If you have questions, see Mrs. Hermelin in the library.
THE CANYON THEATRE GUILD is offering a $500 scholarship. You do not need to have Canyon Theatre Guild experience to apply. This application requires a picture, essay, and letters of recommendation. The application is in the counseling office and needs to mailed by May 15th.
COC is offering a fast track program over the summer for seniors interested in aerospace or biomedical manufacturing. If you would like two months of training and then be able to start into a career this might a great opportunity for you. The best part is that if you qualify for the program, IT IS FREE! If you are interested, there is a program orientation at COC this Saturday, May 12th from 9am to 4 pm. You must register online to attend. You can find out more information by visiting your counselor or going to the Canyon High website.
THE CANYON STAFF is giving 2 scholarships of $400. This scholarship is open to ALL Canyon seniors that plan to attend a college, university, or trade school. Applications are in the counseling office and are due to Mrs. King in room G105 by Friday, May 11th.
THE EILEEN SHUMER CRAIG SCHOLARSHIP is awarding a scholarship of $700 to a Canyon senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher that has been active in the community and demonstrates a financial need. Please pick up an application in the counseling office and return it to Mrs. Goller by May 11th.
SENIORS: Do you represent Cowboy Spirit? Then there is a scholarship for you. Pick up an application for the Canyon Staff Scholarship in the counseling office or in room G-105.
THE CANYON PAC is offering two $500 scholarships to seniors with a GPA from 3.0-3.5 with plans to have a future in education. Applications are in the counseling and are due to Mrs. Goller by May 11th.
