GENERAL

 

JUNIORS!!   We only have 7 girl’s applications.  If we do not have a minimum of 11 Junior players, the “Powder Puff” will be canceled.  APPLICATION ARE DUE TODAY!!!!

 

RED/GREEN DAY!!!  Today if you see someone wearing green, that means they do not have a Prom date yet.  Red means they are taken!!  Buy your tickets before the prices go up!!!!

 

BOOK CLUB meets this Thursday @ lunch in the library. Stop by and check us out! New members are always welcome.

 

HEY SOS MEMBERS!!  Don’t forget to turn you recyclable cans and bottles to room G-202 on Thursday and Friday.  Also, remember to write your name and the number of cans and bottles.

On April 12th, these students will interview with the many other students from our district for the "Hart ROP Outstanding Student of the Year."  CONGRATULATIONS!

 

ROP COSMETOLOGY - Application packages are now available for current juniors interested in starting the ROP Cosmetology program in August.  See Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office to pick up your application.  Application deadline is April 10th, so don't miss out on this opportunity.

 

The ROP DENTAL ASSISTANT - Have you thought of being a Dental Assistant?  The ROP Dental Assistant class can save you thousands of dollars while you develop an employable skill.   Held at Charter College, it provides students the opportunity to earn their California State Dental Radiology Certification and certificates in Infection Control and Dental Practice Act.  Why not jump starts your career now?

 ATTENTION ALL JUNIOR AND SENIORS: Powder Puff Applications are available outside of J-1. The deadline to turn them in is TODAY by 1:30pm to the ASB office.

 

MEETINGS

 

BRAINSTORMERS:  Come to our annual pizza party and celebration Thursday at lunch in D-5.  RSVP to Mrs. Harris so she knows how much pIzza to get!!!

 

HEY KEY CLUBBERS!!  We will have a general meeting TODAY in the A-Lecture Hall at lunch.

 

OPERATION US: We will be meeting this Thursday, March 29th, in E3 at lunch. We will be presenting at Mint Canyon the week after spring break.  All members are encouraged to attend.

 

CSF members, we will have a meeting in H1, Friday, March 30th at lunch. All members are encouraged to attend. We will be voting for officers for next year.

 

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY has a meeting Thursday at lunch in C-7. We will discuss upcoming events and cords for seniors so be sure to attend.

 

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB (and other board games of skill) meet Wed and Friday in G-117. 

 

CAT CLUB:  The Cat Rescue club is meeting TODAY in G216 at lunch.  Come by to discuss ways to help shelter cats and kittens.

 

IMPACT CLUB:  There is a meeting TODAY.  We will be discussing officer positions for next year.  If you are interested in becoming an officer, be sure to come to the meeting.

 

SENIORS

 

SENIORS: if you do not have a Government or Econ class, or if you did not receive the yellow Senior Activities booklet, see one of the Assistant Principals during brunch or lunch.  This booklet contains important information about end of year activities and mandatory graduation meetings.  Graduation is almost here!

 

The Canyon ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB is awarding scholarships to Canyon Seniors who plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college, and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.   Note, your parents must be current members of the Academic Booster Club to be considered.  Extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and community service involvement will be evaluated.  Please pick up this one-page application from the Counseling office, due to be returned by April 20, 2012.

ARE YOU ATTENDING COC IN THE FALL?  :  If you are, please come to the A-Lecture Hall on Thursday, March 29th at lunch, where a representative from COC will be explaining their FYE program.  The First-Year Experience Program was designed to assist students with the difficult transition from high school to college.  Students who apply to the FYE program will participate in Cougar Days, FYE Orientation Days, benefit from FYE designated classes and workshops, have faculty mentors and receive early registration and guaranteed enrollment for the fall semester for a total of 12 units!  Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to start college off right!
