GENERAL

FREE FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP - Parents of College-bound juniors and seniors:  Please come to a FREE Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday evening, February 8th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Library.  You will hear from a professional college planner about how to fill out the FAFSA and CAL GRANT applications.  Refreshments will be served.

ATTENTION JUNIORS:    What?!?  You still have not taken an SAT Prep Class?   Now is the time!  Tier One, one of the largest SAT prep providers in Southern California, will be offering full-length SAT prep classes here at Canyon for the third year in a row.  This program will be taught on Wednesday afternoons and evenings by a skilled and specially trained SAT instructor, will include two proctored exams, and will cover material for the entire SAT test (the Math, Critical Reading and Writing sections). The only fee involved in this program is $90 to cover the cost of materials that you get to keep.  To find out more about the program or to sign-up for this great opportunity, pick up a flyer in the AP office or Counseling office, or visit our school website to print a flyer from home with all dates attached.  The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 7th.  Classes begin Wednesday, March 14th for 6 weeks. 

CAREER IN ARTS WEEK: Career In Arts week is this week.  We are going to have a lot of great speakers, like an Interior Designer, an architect, animator, and many more in the in the music and film industries.  Check the flyers for the schedule and get a permission slip from any Fine Arts teacher.  Today the Madrigals will perform in the choir room.  On Wednesday, the Improv team will perform in the Q Theater. On Thursday, there will be an art walk through the

T-building.

THERE IS A NEW SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB ON CAMPUS: The American Sign Language Club will have its very first meeting TODAY in room E-4 at lunch. Future meetings will be held during lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays in room E-R. Enrollment in the club is open and everyone is welcome to join.

HEY COWBOYS:  The birth of the CANYON FILM SOCIETY is about to rock the Foundation of Bravery!! Come to E-1 every Tuesday at lunch to talk about, watch, and make films!!  Your participation is greatly responsible for the success of the future of film..

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS:  The Prom Fashion Show will be on March 15^th.  We are looking for our couples to model.  Paperwork is now available in ASB and it is due by Friday, February 10.  There are only 40 spots and it is first come first serve.

BLOOD DRIVE:  There will be a blood drive on campus on Wednesday, February 8th.  You must be at least 16 to donate.  Permission slips are available in room U-7 or ask an NHS member.  Your donation may save a life!

HEY COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS:  Valentine’s Day is coming up.  Get that special someone something special!!  Val-O- Grams are on sale for just $7.  For that price, your loved one will receive a song, flower, lollipop, balloon, and personalized card.  See any choir member for additional details.

TEENS FOR JEANS:  Join the 5^th annual Teens for Jeans campaign!!!  Donate your jeans and get 25% off a new pair from Aeropostale.  All jeans will be donated to homeless teens.  Help to make a difference in people’s lives.  Bring your jeans to the ASB Office, where you will get your certificate for 25% off.  Thank you…
