GENERAL

Attention Students- You still have today and tomorrow to request spring schedule changes. You may request a change for one of the following reasons:

I am in the wrong class.

I am missing a class.

I need to add a class because I am behind credits.

I already received credit for a class on my schedule.

Reminders:

(9th & 10th graders must have 6 classes on their schedules. 11th & 12th graders must have a minimum of 5 classes.)

NO teacher requests or brunch change requests will be accepted.

Schedules are NOT guaranteed. They may change in January through the first few weeks of spring semester when class leveling occurs.

Program Change Request Forms will be made available outside of the Counseling Office during both brunches and lunch (today & tomorrow) and should be returned to the basket outside the Counseling Office by Friday, Dec. 16th. You may also email your counselor your schedule change request during the two remaining days (Dec. 15-16) instead of turning in the form. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this process. This is your only opportunity to request changes, as we will only fix errors in schedules when the spring semester begins.

I already received credit for a class on my schedule.

NO STUDENT SUMMONS DURING FINAL EXAMS:  STUDENTS please note, there are NO student summons delivered during Final Exams .  Please do NOT call your parents and ask them to excuse you early for any reason.  The Attendance Office WILL NOT deliver  student summons during Final Exams to remove you from class.  ALL students need to stay during the entire final exam period out of respect for all the other classes in exams.

PLEASE JOIN THE BAND FOR A FREE WINTER CONCERT on Friday at 7pm in the gym.  Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band will be performing.  A few teachers will be joining us as well as alumni.  See you there!

TEXTBOOKS:  Please remember that textbooks for single semester classes are due by Wednesday, December 21st.  These are classes that you will not be continuing with for the spring semester.  Some single semester classes are Government, Economics, and Mythology.  Also due at this time are all class novels checked out from the textbook center.  You will not be allowed to check out textbooks for the Spring semester until these books are returned.  If you have any questions or concerns contact Mrs. Kulesz in the Textbook Center.

HEY KEY CLUBBERS!  Don’t forget to bring in toys for the SCV Sheriff’s Toy Drive, during lunch to

V-1. Remember, two large toys or four smaller toys equal one hour.  The last day to bring in toys is Friday!

NHS, CSF, and Key Club students-we have another volunteer opportunity available to our members!   Sierra Vista is in need of having some outstanding high school students come down and help out in the PE classes.  You world work in the afternoons, and help out with a variety of classes on different days. Speak to your club advisor if you're interested.

HEY COWBOYS!  Did you lose an electronic device or jewelry this semester?  If so, please check with the Assistant Principals secretaries to see if it might be there.

WINTER FORMAL TICKETS are on sale for $70 per couple with an ASB Card and $80 without an ASB Card.  Next week the prices go up to $80 and $90.  Guest tickets are due before Winter Break.

THE HOMELESS SHELTER DRIVE is going on now. Bring any of these needed supplies to the library this week: plastic utensils, envelopes, coffee, tea, sugar, gallons of water, and draw string trash bags. Your donation helps Santa Clarita Shelter. Thanks for giving back to your community.

MUSIC ELECTIVE:  Are you interested in Music Theory?  Do you play an instrument or sing?  Want to brush up your basic musicianship skills?  If you answered yes to any of those questions, come see Mrs. Palmer in Q6 or your counselor to register for Music Theory next semester.  The class will meet 5th period.  All interested students need to see Mrs. Palmer on or before Friday, the 16th.
