GENERAL
CANYON FOOTBALL GAMES: A reminder to students that once you enter the football game and leave, YOU MAY NOT RE-ENTER. If you need a sweater, blanket etc., remember to bring it in with you when you arrive. Skateboards and Scooters are NOT allowed in the stadium or parking lot—DO NOT BRING THEM WITH YOU!!! Since this is a school sponsored event, the Canyon High School DRESS CODE will be strictly enforced. ANY inappropriate attire (clothing, accessories, headgear or body paint) will result in entrance refusal and possible removal if non-compliant.
ARE YOU A FAN OF SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE OR MAD TV? Then come see Canyon's sketch comedy troupe TONIGHT at 6 PM in the Q-Theatre. Tickets are $2 a piece. Don't miss this night of hilarity!
PSAT Study Guides available: If you missed taking the PSAT exam or will be taking the exam at COC on Saturday, you may pick up a study guide in the Counseling Office. We have lots of extra guides available so they are available to anyone who wants one.
TEEN READ WEEK IS COMING OCTOBER 16-22: The theme this year is Picture It @ your library! During that week the Book Club is sponsoring an art contest for the best interpretation of the theme. We want to see how you picture a scene from a book you've read or are currently reading. While you're here, check out our growing selection of graphic novels, art books, photography guides, and fantasy titles. Stop by today and pick up a flier about our art contest or just to find something that inspires you, and read...just for the fun of it!

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY: Come pick up your new membership form from Mrs. Santos in D-6 or Mrs. Seidenkranz in D-2 by TODAY!! These forms replace the original ones distributed at our first meeting and are due back at our next meeting, October 20th.

THE FRIENDLY VALLEY Jewish Community Center is hosting a dinner on Oct. 16 and needs some help setting up in the morning and serving the dinner in the evening. If you're looking for a service opportunity, contact Mrs. Hermelin in the library to find out the details and get the contact information.
SPRING ROP CLASSES: If you're interested in taking an ROP class next semester see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office. ROP classes introduce you to a variety of careers, whether you are looking for entry level employment training, preparation for higher education or need additional credits. Stop by the ROP office for more information.

CAREER AND EDUCATIONAL PREPARATIO PROGAMS through federal, state and local agencies and career opportunities and recruitment practices of the military will be presented in a panel discussion sponsored by the Hart School District and other local agencies on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 6 - 9 pm at Golden Valley High School. The event is free and open to students and their families. For further information please contact Janis Fiock at the District Office or your counseling office.
