CALLING ALL MEN! Don’t forget to register for Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Registering keeps you eligible for financial aid, government jobs and job training. It’s quick. It’s easy. And it’s the law. To register in less than 2 minutes, go to www.sss.gov. Also, if you are a senior and are applying to a Cal State School, there is a place on the college Application where 18 year old students may sign up for the selective service.

MODELS OF PRIDE: Sat. October 15th-at University of Southern California (USC)
This FREE one day workshop focuses on concerns of Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning (LGBTQ)youth up to age 24. Workshops are for youth, and parents. STUDENTS, would you like to learn first-hand about a career that interests you? Do a job shadow at a local business in Santa Clarita where you can see what someone does at work. There are opportunities to shadow in many different industries. Contact Pam Malowe at the district office.
TEEN READ WEEK is coming October 16-22: The theme this year is Picture It @ your library! During that week the Book Club is sponsoring an art contest for the best interpretation of the theme. We want to see how you picture a scene from a book you've read or are currently reading. While you're here, check out our growing selection of graphic novels, art books, photography guides, and fantasy titles. Stop by today and pick up a flier about our art contest or just to find something that inspires you, and read...just for the fun of it!
