GENERAL

 

ALL STUDENTS that have an open period or an athletics/ROTC/extracurricular activity will need their ID to reflect this.  These are new instructions to process your ID.

 

Please go to the Assistant Principals Office:

 

1.       Students that have their schedule may get an open sticker instantly as time permits.

2.       Students who do not have their schedule can drop their ID off at the AP Office at brunch.  The first 150 turned in will be processed and ready for pick up at that same location during lunch.

3.       If you have an athletics or extracurricular activity, you must present your completed Release from Athletic P.E./Extra Curricular Activities form that you received from your coach or teacher to receive your sticker.  Blank forms are located in the AP office on the counter.

 

PSAT results are here!  You may pick up your PSAT results during brunch or lunch.  See Mrs. Hettema in the Counseling Office ASAP.

 

CSF:  Applications will be accepted in C8, at lunch only, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 18-19, and Monday through Wednesday, Jan. 24-26.  Applications will not be accepted Thursday or Friday, Jan 20-21. 

 

THE WEEK OF FEB. 9TH, Canyon High School's Fine Arts Department is holding the 1st ever Career in Arts Week.  Composers, song writers, animation directors and many, many others will be here to share their career experiences. Have you ever wanted to earn money (a living) in the arts? Here is your chance to find out how to do it. Career in Arts Week starts Feb. 9th, and runs through Feb. 12th.  For more information, talk to your Fine Arts teacher.

 

TODAY, FRIDAY, JANUARY 21, is the last day to join Canyon's exciting and innovative ROP Graphic Design Course. This class will enable you to move your computer programming and graphic design skills to the next level while working with real world applications that can lead to big money jobs. Learn to make shirts, flyers and you will even design and manufacture your own complete ad campaign. As long as you have a desire to learn, are willing to get to school at 7 am and your parents don't mind you getting out at lunch, this class is for you. So go to the ROP Office today!

 

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS ONLY:  It is time to start thinking about Prom Fashion Show.  If you would like to participate in the 2011 Fashion Show, on Friday, March 11, come to the ASB Office to pick up an application starting TODAY.  All applications must be in by Tuesday, February 2.

 

ROP - The last day to drop an ROP class without a Drop/Fail is Monday January 24th.  You must see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office to drop your ROP class.

 

MEETINGS

 

CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB and other board games will meet in G-127 at lunch.  Bring your lunch, skill, enthusiasm and play/ learn the game of Kings and Queens.  Questions, please see Mr. Clark

SENIORS...This is the scholarship you've been waiting for! Thousands WILL BE AWARDED to Canyon Seniors! The Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Foundation manages a large number of scholarships for corporate and private donors. One application will put you in the running for a number of scholarships. Completed applications are due to Canyon's Counseling Office 2/10/11. Please see Mrs. Atkin-Goller or Mrs. Smith with questions.
