GENERAL

HEY COWBOYS—FINALS ARE JUST AROUND THE CORNER.  Here is the schedule:

Tuesday, December 14--- finals are periods 4 and 5

Wednesday, December 15 --- finals are periods 3 and 6

Thursday, December 16 --- finals are periods 2, 7 and 1

NO STUDENT SUMMONS DURING FINAL EXAMS:  STUDENTS please note, there are NO student summons delivered during Final Exams.  Please do NOT call your parents and ask them to excuse you early for any reason.  The Attendance Office WILL NOT deliver student summons during Final Exams to remove you from class.  ALL students need to stay during the entire final exam period out of respect for all the other classes in exams. 

ATTENTION SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY:  Spanish Honor Society  members who plan to attend our last event of the year this Friday night should pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Santos or Mrs. Seidenkranz by Friday.  The form must be completed and signed by a parent prior to the event in order to get credit for attending.

SUPPORT THE DANCE TEAM on Wednesdays by eating at Ameci's. Just mention Canyon when you go!

ALL ATHLETES: YOU MUST have your lockers cleaned out by winter break.   NO EXCEPTIONS!!  LOCKS WILL BE CUT IF THEY ARE STILL THERE!!!

CAN’T THINK OF SOMETHING TO BUY THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE?  Or maybe just a good friend?  Holiday Grams are going on sale!  You can buy them through any ASB member or look for the ASB tables outside of ASB and on the Outdoor Stage, during brunch or lunch!  You must buy them by Wednesday, December 8.  They are $3 and include a candy cane, balloon, and your own personal note and will be delivered on Friday, December 10.

MANDATORY MEETING FOR BOYS TENNIS TEAM MEMBERS at lunch on Thursday by the tennis courts for all boys tennis team members.  It will start at lunch!!! All paperwork will be given out at this time!!!!

LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS of residential and commercial construction, carpentry, and plumbing.  The ROP Construction Technology and ROP Plumbing classes will teach you skills that can earn you money and save you money later.  See Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office while there are still openings.

NEED A CALENDAR FOR NEXT YEAR? Well it’s your lucky day because the Mr. Canyon Calendars are out! Come buy your calendar in the ASB office, $15 dollars. Come check it out!"

BOYS GOLF:  Any boys interested in playing on the golf team in the spring need to come to an information meeting in B-4 at lunch TODAY!

TEXTBOOKS FOR SINGLE SEMESTER CLASSES are due by Thursday, December 16, 2010.  These are classes that you will not be continuing with for the spring semester.  Also due at that time are all class novels checked out from the textbook center.  Don’t forget.  You will not be allowed to check out textbooks for the spring semester until these textbooks are returned.  If you have any questions or concerns contact Mrs. Kulesz in the Textbook Center.

JUICE-IT-UP:  Go to Juice-it-up today and help make this years Prom amazing.

ARE YOU THINKING OF ATTENDING COLLEGE?  On Thursday, December 9th, at 6 pm the Canyon Counseling Department will be hosting informational workshops to help you learn about college and how to pay for it.  For Seniors there will a workshop detailing everything you need to know about financial aid.  Juniors will have a workshop covering financial aid, SAT timelines, and what you need to do before your senior year.  For freshmen and sophomores there will be a meeting covering college requirements and how to boost your chances to get into great schools and receive scholarships.  Seniors will meet in the library.  Juniors will be in the A lecture hall.  Freshmen and sophomores will meet in the B lecture hall.

NHS:  Is meeting TODAY at lunch in room G-105.

THE DANCE CLUB will meet TODAY in S4.  Please bring your lunch.

OPERATION US needs to meet TODAY Room E-3 at lunch. We have two quick presentations upon our return from winter break and need to get them organized. See you Dec. 8 at lunch.

KEY CLUB:  There is a general meeting December 9 during lunch in the A-Lecture Hall.

COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL:  There will be a meeting on Thursday, December 9 in U-7 at lunch.  Remember it is never too late to join the club—so bring your friends.  See you there!

SENIORS

SENIOR FUN PACK HOLDERS:  Attention Sr. Fun Pack Holders... Only you can purchase winter formal tickets at the lowest possible price for $60 a couple.  Winter Formal is Feb 5th. @ The Valencia Hyatt. Make sure to buy your tickets....
