GENERAL

HEY COWBOYS—FINALS ARE JUST AROUND THE CORNER.  Here is the schedule:

Tuesday, December 14--- finals are periods 4 and 5

Wednesday, December 15 --- finals are periods 3 and 6

Thursday, December 16 --- finals are periods 2, 7 and 1

NO STUDENT SUMMONS DURING FINAL EXAMS:  STUDENTS please note, there are NO student summons delivered during Final Exams.  Please do NOT call your parents and ask them to excuse you early for any reason.  The Attendance Office WILL NOT deliver student summons during Final Exams to remove you from class.  ALL students need to stay during the entire final exam period out of respect for all the other classes in exams. 

BOYS VOLLEYBALL tryouts are TODAY and Tomorrow (Wednesday) at LUNCH in Aux gym.

CANYONS AWESOME THEATRE:  Don't miss the theatre department's fall play "You Can't Take it With You." It's the perfect family comedy for the holidays. Performances are Wed, Thurs, and Fri at 7 PM in the Q-Theatre. Tickets are $10 or $8 with/ASB card.

ATTENTION CURRENT ROP STUDENTS:  Do you need extra ROP class hours?  Then consider attending the upcoming ROP workshop titled "Marketing YOU for Success" which will be held on Dec. 3rd from 4-7 pm at the SCV Activities Center.  Learn the tools to market yourself while earning ROP credits.  See your ROP advisor or your teacher for an entrance ticket.  

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT OR PSYCHOLOGY? Then the Infant Care, Child Care or School Aged Child Care ROP course may be right for you.  Come to see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office for more information.

BOYS TENNIS TEAM TRY-OUTS are November 30th-Dec. 3rd. at the tennis courts from

3:00-4:30. If you don't have a tennis racquet come out anyway.

HEY COWBOYS!!  EVERY Tuesday after school there will be a Shave-It truck out in the Senior Parking lot from 3-4 p.m.  Support the school band and buy some Shave-It! 

CSF:  This is a reminder to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who plan to apply for CSF membership next semester: You will need to complete ten hours of volunteer work by January.  You are encouraged to pick up a volunteer form ahead of time so that you can have your hours signed off as you complete them.  Forms will be available in room C8, AT LUNCH ONLY, through Tuesday, 11/30.

Are YOU interested in being a registered nurse, respiratory care practitioner, doctor, physical therapist, or surgeon? Then CAMP CHLA might be for you!.  If you would like to come to a 5-day camp at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and want to observe medical procedures, participate in skills labs, CPR, and mock emergencies, you can get a firsthand look at the fascinating world of healthcare you can sign up.  If you are a CURRENT sophomore, junior, senior you can attend Camp 2 from August 8th-12th, from 8 am to 4:30 pm.  If you are a current senior you may choose to attend Camp 1 April 18-22.  APPLICATIONS are due Friday, December 17 (including essay and letter of recommendation) and can be found at www.chla.org/campchla  For more info call 323.361.7534.

COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL:  There will be a meeting on Thursday, December 9 in U-7 at lunch.  Remember it is never too late to join the club—so bring your friends.  See you there!
