GENERAL

 

ALL CANYON STUDENTS are reminded that when we have minimum day, they may NOT visit other campuses, including Sierra Vista.  Other schools are in full day session and it is a trespassing violation to be on their campus while their school is in session.  Avoid disciplinary action and a trespassing ticket!  Do not visit other schools when Canyon has a minimum day!

 

SWIM TEAM TRYOUT!!!  Do you want to be on the Swim Team?  Then you need to come to the Tryout on November 8th and the 10th from 2:45-4:30(both days) at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center.  Come by T-1 for swim standard times to be on the team. Everyone must tryout this Year!!

 

ROP COSMETOLOGY:  If you are planning on attending an ROP Cosmetology course in the spring, you must see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office for upcoming entrance test dates. 

 

ATTENTION COWBOYS!  Go to Juice It Up on Sierra Hwy EVERY Wednesday from 12-6 to help make this year’s Prom amazing!!!

 

BOOK CLUB:  We will be reading In the Path of Falling Objects by Andrew Smith (our history teacher).  If you would like to join our discussion of this book and wish to obtain a copy, come see Mrs. Limbaugh in the library by Friday.

 

WANT TO SEE YOUR CREATIVE TALENT IN PRINT?  Canyon's Art and Lit Magazine is now accepting submissions!  We are looking for artwork, photography, poems and short stories that represent this year's theme "Crossroads."  Prizes will be awarded for the best artwork and best piece of writing. Submission forms are available from your art or English teacher, or in C4.  Please see Ms. Feix in C4 if you have any questions.

 

 

ROP: Students interested in taking an ROP class next semester need to see Mrs. Gaines in the ROP office. ROP classes introduce you to a variety of careers, whether you are looking at entry level employment training or preparation for higher education or need additional credits.  Stop by the ROP office today.

 

ACADEMIC AWARD RECIPIENTS:  If you were invited to the ceremony but were unable to attend, please see Mrs. Nelson in the Assistant Principals Office no later than December 16, 2010 to pick up your certificate and award.  Congratulations!

 

HEY KEY CLUBBERS!  There is a make-up meeting Thursday, October 28, if you missed the meeting last Wednesday.  Fall Rally money is due by October 26.  It is $40 for those without a season pass and $20 with a season pass.  Exec Board interviews will be this Friday in room V-1 at lunch.

 

SENIORS

 

ATTENTION SENIORS:  Have you wondered about how you will pay for college?  There are many opportunities for scholarships and grants waiting for you.  Please come to an information meeting on Thursday, October 28th in the A lecture hall during lunch.  The counselors will tell you all about financial aid and how to start the process of financing your future education.

 

SENIORS:  It's time to start preparing for Graduation.  The first step is to order your Cap & Gown, Graduation Announcements, and other Senior memorabilia.

JOSTENS will be on campus accepting orders on:    Thursday, Nov. 4th,  During Gov’t/Econ Classes                                    Outside the “B” Building.           Ordering information has been distributed in class!!!

Be prepared to bring your completed order form and down payment on this day.  DON'T FORGET EVERY SENIOR MUST TURN IN THEIR CAP & GOWN SIZES on this day!

Remember … any Senior ordering their Class Ring and any GRAD Package on order day will receive their Cap & Gown for FREE!  See your catalog for details.
