GENERAL
HEALTH OFFICE: Students PLEASE DO NOT call or text your parents from a classroom or on campus to tell them you don’t feel well. GET A PASS FROM YOUR TEACHER TO GO TO THE HEALTH OFFICE. Mrs. Schwamb will call your parents from the Health Office.

SCHOOL PICTURES ARE IN, they are available to pick up outside the J bldg, during both brunches and lunch.
TUTORING TUESDAY AND THURSDAYS IS BACK! Need a quiet place to study? Have questions about your homework, projects, or tests? Every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-5:00 in the Library. Teachers and student tutors in Science, Math, English, and Social Studies will be available to answer questions and help you with your work! Starts September 14! No sign-up necessary! Just show up! SEE YOU THERE!
HOT CLUB-- Have you heard of the Helping Our Teens club? We help students in need of financial help. Last year we were able to buy prom bids, tickets to senior events, and even yearbooks for students who couldn't afford to buy one in their senior year. It's about helping out our fellow Cowboys, and we need your help. If you're interested in helping make Canyon a better place for everyone, please come to E5 on Monday at lunch.
CLUB RUSH: Come out this next Friday, Sept 10th to Club Rush Day. Many clubs will have tables out during both brunches to get you signed up in a club. Please stop by and get involved.
HEY COWBOYS! Like to write short stories or poems? Love to draw or take pictures? Really good with graphic design? Then come to an informational meeting for Canyon's Arts and Literature magazine on Thursday 9/9 at lunch in C4. If you have any questions, see Ms. Feix in C4. Treats will be provided! SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY: Sign up for your Cedar Creek tutoring hour in D-2 at lunch on Tuesday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 8. Tutoring at Cedar Creek takes place on Wednesdays after school.
STUDENTS: Are you planning on attending a
HEY COWBOYS!! All students must carry a current Canyon High School Photo ID while on campus. In the event that you do not have an ID, please visit the text book center at brunch, lunch or until 3:30 after school. Please bring a copy of your schedule with you. All students found on campus without an ID will be required to serve lunch detention.
ALL STUDENTS: If you have dropped or changed a class, please return the textbook for that class. Other students may be waiting for your book. Also remember, damage waiver forms are due back by Friday September 10th. If you have any questions contact Mrs. Kulesz in the textbook center.
THE PSAT is sold out. For those students who signed up, remember to pick up your PSAT Study Guide in the Counseling Office. The PSAT will be held Wednesday Oct. 13, 2010 with juniors in the Main Gym and sophomores in the Auxiliary Gym. The Test will begin at 7:45 and no one will be admitted after 8:05. There will be NO refunds for anyone who is late or absent for ANY reason.
THE VALENCIA FLYERS HOCKEY CLUB is currently looking for hard-working, fast-paced interns for their upcoming season.
- The Flyers play in the 13-team Western States Hockey League, with opponents from
- While working for the Flyers, interns will have a great opportunity to see how a hockey team operates, as well as specific duties on game nights, including but not limited to; statistics, video, fan interaction, promotions, marketing and advertising.
- Working for a hockey team will look great on an application and provide invaluable hands-on work experience.

ALL BRAINSTORMERS AND POTENTIAL BRAINSTORMERS! Come to our first meeting and game of the year Thursday at lunch in room D-5. All are welcome, but we particularly need seniors and freshmen, so if you enjoy a fast-paced academic game (sort of like Jeopardy) and have a brain full of random facts, come on out!!!
COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL IS BACK! Hey Cowboys! Compassion International Club is ready for a new year, are you? The first meeting will be TODAY in U-7 at lunch. Bring all of your friends.
NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY will hold its first meeting TODAY in room T4 at lunch
THE CHECKMATES CHESS AND BOARD GAME CLUB will have its first meeting TODAY during lunch in G-117. Any questions, please see Mr. Clark in G-117. Bring your lunch and competitive spirit! The Club will meet every Wednesday and Friday.

DO YOU ENJOY HORSEBACK RIDING OR OWN YOUR OWN HORSE? Would you like to know more about horses or hang out with other people who love horses or enjoy horseback riding? Whether you ride English or Western, jump or barrel race, come to an informational meeting of the Equestrian Club, that's the Equestrian Club this Friday at lunch in T-3. All are welcome!
SENIORS
COLLEGE APPLICATION WORKSHOPS: Attention Seniors: The UC and CSU Application Windows are opening October 1st and it's time to get prepared. There will be a UC Application Workshop on September 17, 2010 Starting 5th period and running until lunch; this workshop will focus on the Application, Personal Statement and give a quick overview of UC Merced. The CSU Application Workshop will take place on October 1, 2010 from 5th period through lunch and will cover the Application Process, CSU Mentor and give a quick overview of CSU Northridge. These are for seniors only and you must sign up in the counseling office and have your 5th period teacher sign your permission slip.
