GENERAL

 

FINAL EXAMS FOR GRADES 9, 10, AND 11 ARE AS FOLLOWS:

 

Tuesday, June 1  -  periods 4 and 5

Wednesday, June 2  -  periods 3 and 6

Thursday, June 3  -  periods 2 and 7 / 1

 

TUTORING TUESDAYS is happening this week in ROOM C-6—MR. CUNY’S CLASSROOM after school on Tuesday and receive help in all your subjects.  Math, English, Econ, Spanish, and Social Studies help is available.  Hang out with your friends, study, use the computers, and improve your grades.  We'll see you Tuesday in ROOM C-6 after school.

 

CANYON GIRLS’ SOCCER PHYSICAL FUNDRAISER

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

2:15 pm –3:30 pm

Room S-4 @ Canyon High School

Cost -$25

Cash preferred but checks are accepted payable to Dr. Chris Eddy

Part of the proceeds are returned to the soccer program

NOTE: Physicals are required for summer camp which starts 6/7/2010

 

INTERESTED IN JOINING CROSS COUNTRY?  Come to our team meeting on Wednesday, May 26th in S-4 at 3:15 for more information about our team and summer training.

 

NO STUDENT SUMMONS DURING FINAL EXAMS:  STUDENTS please note, there are NO student summons delivered during Final Exams.  Please do not call your parents and ask them to excuse you early for any reason.  The Attendance Office WILL NOT deliver student summons during Final Exams to remove you from class.  All students need to stay during the entire final exam period out of respect for all the other classes in exams.

 

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS:  If you were a member of SHH this year and do not currently have a Spanish class, please make sure to see Mrs. Santos in D-4 or Mrs. Seidenkranz in D-2 before Wednesday, May 26th.

 

CSF - Students expecting to become members of CSF next fall should pick up the volunteer-hours form this week at lunch, in room C8. Getting the form now will allow you to get the required signatures while you do you summer volunteering.  Only juniors and seniors will need to complete volunteer hours.  Freshmen and fall Sophomores are exempt from the requirement.  Remember, CSF matters will be handled at lunch only and not during any other time of the day.

 

CAREER CENTER NEWS

 

SUMMER PROGRAMS AT UNIV. OF PITTSBURGH:  Explore majors in Business, Law, Engineering, Medicine, Dental Medicine, Nursing and more at a the Univ. of Pittsburgh.  Students who will be seniors this fall are invited to apply.  Stop by the Career Center or go to www.oafa.pitt.edu for details.

 

MEETINGS

 

THE LAST STUDENT TASK FORCE MEETING of the year is TODAY at lunch in room G-201.  If you are interested in joining STF next year, please come to the meeting!

 

THE CHECKMATES CHESS CLUB will meet for the last time this year, Tuesday 5/25 in G-117.

We will be electing new officers

 

SENIORS

 

SENIORS: Do you owe any textbooks, library books, fines or delinquencies?  All textbooks and library books must be turned in and fines paid by Thursday, May 27th.  All fines and delinquencies must be paid in cash, no checks.  Your senior activities may be restricted if you have not cleared your accounts.  If you have any questions or concerns check with Mrs. Kulesz in the textbook center or Ms. Rehder in the ASB office.
