GENERAL
The library will be closed due to AP testing on the following days:
Wednesday, May 12 from 7:00a.m.- the end of 5th period.
Please do not come into the library for any reason. Thank you.
ATTENTION ALL BRAINSTORMERS! Please see Mrs. Harris in room D-5 ASAP regarding our year-end celebration!!
CSF SEALBEARERS: Remember that the application for the $1000 CSF Sealbearer scholarship is due TODAY by the end of lunch. Applications will not be accepted after that time.
WE HAVE EXTENDED THE ENTRY DEADLINE FOR THE LET ME DANCE MARATHON!! It is this Saturday, May 15th from 11 am to 10 pm in the main gym. Proceeds will benefit LETMESAIL, a therapeutic organization for mentally disabled individuals in Santa Clarita. All you have to do is fill out a couple of forms and raise a little bit of money. Then you turn in it in to Ms. King in room G-105 and get to have a blast dancing with all of your friends one last time! Who says you can't have fun *and* help those in need.
HEY CANYON COWBOYS! Do you have Talent? Are you a great dancer, actor, singer, in a cool band, or have unique talents? Do you want to show your talent to ALL of Canyon? If so, YOU should audition for The Variety Night on Wednesday May 12th in the Q-Theatre. Sign up for an audition slot on the theatre door - slots run from lunch to 5 PM.

AUDITIONS for the fall play, "Splendor in the Grass" will be TODAY. No preparation necessary. Please arrive in the Q-theatre at 2 PM if you do not have a 7th period or 3 PM if you do have a 7th period.
ATTENTION STUDENTS AND FACULTY: ALL Library books are due back by Friday, May 14. Please return your books on time. If you are a senior, you must be sure to return your books and pay any fines in order to graduate. You do not want a fine to keep you from graduating. Thank you.
MEETINGS
THE LAST NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEETING is this Wednesday at lunch. Remember to turn in your dance marathon paperwork. All NHS members are required to dance!
SENIORS
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS: Tim and Danny Renolds Memorial Scholarship: Tim and Danny were two special Canyon brothers who were tragically killed. Every year, their parents award a $500 dollar scholarship to a senior male athlete in their honor. If you have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5 and plan to go to go a trade school, community college, or university, please pick up an application in the counseling office. The deadline for this scholarship is May 14th.
SCHOLARSHIP: Are you planning a major in college like public relations, advertising, marketing, graphic arts, journalism, ration, TV, or film? The Santa Clarita Valley Press Club has a scholarship for you. Applications are due May 24th. Please pick one up in the counseling office if interested.
ANY SENIOR wishing to audition for Senior Speaker for Graduation should sign up in Assistant Principals Office and pick up a speech/audition information sheet. Please do this as soon as possible. Audition sign-ups will end on May 17. Auditions will be on the morning of May 21.
Sign up early to get the audition time of your choice!! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Getz in the AP office.
SENIORS! Do you still want to go to Grad Night?? Well it’s not too late. Tickets are on sale for $100 in the front of the ASB Office. Remember to buy them before May 21!! Don’t miss out on ALLTHE FUN!
ARE YOU ATTENDING COC IN THE FALL? If you are, please come to the B-Lecture Hall on Thursday, May 13th at Lunch, where a representative from COC will be explaining their new FYE program. The First-Year Experience Program was designed to assist students with the difficult transition from high school to college. COC’s FYE Program also guarantees that first-time college students will have access to general studies courses in their first year. There are many other valuable advantages available to students in the FYE Program. Please join us in the B-Lecture Hall on Thursday, May 13th at lunch to learn more.
ATTENTION ALL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS: hours sheets and $15 for senior sashes are due on May 18th.
CSF SEALBEARERS: A list of CSF Sealbearers for 2010 has been posted outside room C8. If your name is on the list, you are eligible to apply for a $1000 Sealbearer scholarship. Applications are available in C8 starting today. They must be returned by TODAY. The three winners will be announced at Senior Recognition Night, May 20. Remember, CSF matters will be handled at lunch only--not during brunch or between classes.
