The library will be closed due to AP testing on the following days:
Monday, May 10 from the end of 5th period - 5:00p.m.
Wednesday, May 12 from 7:00a.m.- the end of 5th period.
Please do not come into the library for any reason. Thank you.
CANYON THEATRE PRESENTS "GUYS AND DOLLS" the Broadway musical full of gamblers, gangsters, dancing girls, romance, and suspense. Performed at the Golden Valley Theatre TONIGHT and Friday at 7 PM. Tickets are $15 or $12 with ASB. You don't want to miss this!

THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY is hosting a dance marathon on May 15th. Go to Ms. King's room, G 105, or the ASB office to pick up your registration packet. All materials must be turned into room G 105 by May 7th.
AVID APPLICATIONS-- If you still want an AVID application, this is your lucky day! Stop by to see Ms. Jones in E5 for an application and to find out how you can go to college too. Hurry- applications are due this Friday.
THE LET ME DANCE MARATHON is taking place on May 15th from 11 am to 10 pm in the main gym. Proceeds will benefit LETMESAIL, a therapeutic organization for mentally disabled individuals in Santa Clarita. Please turn in all paperwork and money raised to G-105 by May 7th. This is your chance to have fun with friends and help your community at the same time.
HEY CLASS OF 2011: Your Senior year is just around the corner! If you want to create a possible design for our Senior T-Shirts and you have not received a design paper, come pick one up in the ASB Office. Don’t forget to turn it in by May 6th !!!!!
HEY CLASS OF 2011: It is time to order next year’s personalized parking spots. Paperwork will be available outside of the ASB Office on May 3rd, but may not be turned in until May 10th.

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS-Powderpuff applications are now available outside the ASB office. Everyone needs to apply again- Junior and senior girls including the boys that would like to be cheerleaders. No applications were saved from the first set. Please note that there will be an unlimited number of students for each grade and it will be $5 to participate. Applications are due TODAY at 1pm.

EXPLORING COLLEGE OPTIONS: Admissions representatives from Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn and Stanford will host Exploring College Options Meetings for prospective students and parents in the Los Angeles area during May. SENIORS
ANY SENIOR wishing to audition for Senior Speaker for Graduation should sign up in Assistant Principals Office and pick up a speech/audition information sheet. Please do this as soon as possible. Audition sign-ups will end on May 17. Auditions will be on the morning of May 21.
Sign up early to get the audition time of your choice!! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Getz in the AP office.
SENIORS! Do you still want to go to Grad Night?? Well it’s not too late. Tickets are on sale for $100 in the front of the ASB Office. Remember to buy them before May 21!! Don’t miss out on ALLTHE FUN!
ARE YOU ATTENDING COC IN THE FALL? If you are, please come to the B-Lecture Hall on Thursday, May 13th at Lunch, where a representative from COC will be explaining their new FYE program. The First-Year Experience Program was designed to assist students with the difficult transition from high school to college. COC’s FYE Program also guarantees that first-time college students will have access to general studies courses in their first year. There are many other valuable advantages available to students in the FYE Program. Please join us in the B-Lecture Hall on Thursday, May 13th at lunch to learn more.
ATTENTION ALL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS: hours sheets and $15 for senior sashes are due on May 18th.
SENIOR STARS: If you have been accepted to a 4-year college or university and plan on attending that school in the fall, please see Mrs. Hettema in the counseling office. We will make a star in your honor and place it on the Senior Stars bulletin board. Also, if you have received notice of any scholarships or awards, please complete the Senior Recognition Information Form available in the Counseling Office.
CSF SEALBEARERS: A list of CSF Sealbearers for 2010 has been posted outside room C8. If your name is on the list, you are eligible to apply for a $1000 Sealbearer scholarship. Applications are available in C8 starting today. They must be returned by Tuesday, May 11. The three winners will be announced at Senior Recognition Night, May 20. Remember, CSF matters will be handled at lunch only--not during brunch or between classes.
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS: There is a $2000 scholarship for a Canyon student that will attend a 2 or 4 year college, has a GPA of 2.0 through a 3.0, and is a varsity letter winner. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
THERE IS ANOTHER $2000 scholarship for a Canyon student that will attend a 2 or 4 year college, has a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and plans to become a teacher. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
