GENERAL
The library will be closed due to AP testing on the following days:
Tuesday, May 4 from 7:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
Wednesday, May 5 from 7:00 - the end of 5th period.
Monday, May 10 from the end of 5th period - 5:00p.m.
Wednesday, May 12 from 7:00a.m.- the end of 5th period.
Please do not come into the library for any reason. Thank you.
Oh no! I love to perform and I love to dance but I missed the color guard clinic yesterday! What should I do???? Well.... it's not too late! Come to our clinic TODAY from 3:30-5:30 in the band room. If you don't know what color guard is or if you're not sure, at least come check it out! Just wear your athletic shoes and come ready to try something new! Please see Mrs. Palmer in the Q bldg. with questions!
THE LET ME DANCE MARATHON is taking place on May 15th from 11 am to 10 pm in the main gym. Proceeds will benefit LETMESAIL, a therapeutic organization for mentally disabled individuals in Santa Clarita. Please turn in all paperwork and money raised to G-105 by May 7th. This is your chance to have fun with friends and help your community at the same time.
HEY CLASS OF 2011: It is time to order next year’s personalized parking spots. Paperwork will be available outside of the ASB Office on May 3rd, but may not be turned in until May 10th. First come, first serve.
ATTENTION ALL NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS: You are required to make a poster by May 5th and help advertise for the blood drive or dance marathon. Go to Ms. King's room to sign up. You must turn in $20 for dues to Ms. King by May 5th. Seniors: the NHS scholarship application is due by May 7th."

ATTENTION ALL 9TH AND 10TH GRADERS- are you interested in attending college, but aren't quite sure how to get there? Do you want to be the first in your family to attend a university? The AVID program may be for you! Applications are available this week, and this week only, in E5 at brunch or lunch. Stop by to ask Ms. Jones any questions about the AVID program and to pick up an application.
BOY’S BASKETBALL: If you are interested in participating in the Summer Boys' Basketball program, please come by G-116 at Lunch for information in regards to Spring tryouts and summer dates and times.
AP STUDENTS: Just a reminder that AP Testing kicks off Monday morning, May 3 with AP Government in BB1. The last day of testing is Thursday May 13. AP testing will occur in rooms BB1, BB2 and the library. Students need to arrive by 7:45 am for morning tests and 12:30 pm for afternoon tests. If you have questions about the testing schedule, please ask your AP teacher or visit The Counseling Office. The AP Schedule will also be posted on the Canyon Website.
AP STUDENTS: All AP students must attend a MANDATORY Pre-Administration session in order to fill out all AP Exam paper work before testing. The Pre-Administration session date is TODAY at lunch time in the A-Lecture Hall. Students MUST attend one of these sessions!!! If you have any questions please see Ms. Lavalle in The Counseling Office.

AP STUDENTS: Do you want to take a practice test for your AP exam? Well then, go the library databases and login to the Gale Infotrac database. Click on the Testing and Education Reference at the bottom of the page. Under High School Tools click on AP exams prep. You will need to create a username and password before taking the test. Come to the library for the username and password for Gale Infotrac database. You can access the website from home.

SENIORS
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS:
TIM AND DANNY RENOLDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Tim and Danny were two special Canyon brothers who were tragically killed. Every year, their parents award a $500 dollar scholarship to a senior male athlete in their honor. If you have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5 and plan to go to go a trade school community college, or university, please pick up an application in the counseling office. The deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
IS THERE A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP in your family that is making it difficult for you to attend college? Please come to counseling office and pick up an application for the Eileen Shumer Craig Scholarship. This is a $700 dollar scholarship for a student with a GPA of 2.5 or better that has a demonstrated financial need and is active in the community. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: The ABC, which hosts the Academic Banquet each year, is granting several scholarships to seniors for academic achievement here at
ENGLISH-LEARNERS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: Seniors who have participated in the EL Program here at Canyon are eligible to apply for this scholarship based on academic achievement. Pick up an application in the Counseling office, and return it to Mrs. Smith by Thursday, May 6, 2010.
