SHAKESPEARE- Do you like the movie She's the Man? How about 10 Things I hate About You? What about The Lion King? Did you know that all of these great movies are based on plays by William Shakespeare?

ATTENTION ALL 9TH AND 10TH GRADERS- are you interested in attending college, but aren't quite sure how to get there? Do you want to be the first in your family to attend a university? The AVID program may be for you! Applications are available this week, and this week only, in E5 at brunch or lunch. Stop by to ask Ms. Jones any questions about the AVID program and to pick up an application.
BOY’S BASKETBALL: If you are interested in participating in the Summer Boys' Basketball program, please come by G-116 at Lunch for information in regards to Spring tryouts and summer dates and times.
AP STUDENTS: Just a reminder that AP Testing kicks off Monday morning, May 3 with AP Government in BB1. The last day of testing is Thursday May 13. AP testing will occur in rooms BB1, BB2 and the library. Students need to arrive by 7:45 am for morning tests and 12:30 pm for afternoon tests. If you have questions about the testing schedule, please ask your AP teacher or visit The Counseling Office. The AP Schedule will also be posted on the Canyon Website.
AP STUDENTS: All AP students must attend a MANDATORY Pre-Administration session in order to fill out all AP Exam paper work before testing. The Pre-Administration session date is TODAY at lunch time in the A-Lecture Hall. Students MUST attend one of these sessions!!! If you have any questions please see Ms. Lavalle in The Counseling Office.

AP STUDENTS: Do you want to take a practice test for your AP exam? Well then, go the library databases and login to the Gale Infotrac database. Click on the Testing and Education Reference at the bottom of the page. Under High School Tools click on AP exams prep. You will need to create a username and password before taking the test. Come to the library for the username and password for Gale Infotrac database. You can access the website from home.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY has a very important meeting about Relay for Life at lunch in C7, TODAY. If you do not come, we will not be signing your hours for NHS, AVID etc.

SENIORS
ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: The ABC, which hosts the Academic Banquet each year, is granting several scholarships to seniors for academic achievement here at
ENGLISH-LEARNERS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: Seniors who have participated in the EL Program here at Canyon are eligible to apply for this scholarship based on academic achievement. Pick up an application in the Counseling office, and return it to Mrs. Smith by Thursday, May 6, 2010.
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS: There is a $2000 scholarship for a Canyon student that will attend a 2 or 4 year college, has a GPA of 2.0 through a 3.0, and is a varsity letter winner. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
THERE IS ANOTHER $2000 SCHOLARSHIP for a Canyon student that will attend a 2 or 4 year college, has a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and plans to become a teacher. Applications are in the counseling office and the deadline for this scholarship is May 7th.
