GENERAL

AWARDS BANQUET COMING SOON!  If you earned a 3.5 or higher grade point average for Fall Semester 2009, you should have received an invitation to the Spring Academic Awards Banquet to be held on Wednesday, April 28.  Deadline to turn in RSVP to Mrs. Haro in the Assistant Principal’s Office and purchase dinner tickets from ASB is FRIDAY, APRIL 23.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  Please contact Mrs. Hayes-Rennels in the AP Office if you have any questions.

DRUMLINE:  Do you play the piano or the drums?  If so, did you know that you can join the

award-winning drum line?  See Mrs. Palmer in the “Q” building for more information.

ROP CLASSES AUG 2010:  ANY STUDENT WHO WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP FOR AN ROP CLASS STARTING IN THE FALL OF 2010 NEEDS TO GO SEE MRS. OKRONICK NOW

CALLING ALL GAMERS!!  Do you enjoy rocking out on Guitar Hero or Rock Band?  Are you a fan of Mario Kart?  Perhaps you like to play Apples to Apples or other board games. Well then you are in luck because Game Day is coming up soon.  Game Day will take place on April 20^th after 5^th period.  There will also be an awesome bake sale with homemade goodies, soda, water, and much more.  Come to the Band Room (Q6) and see Mrs. Palmer to sign up.  The cost is just $5.00, so don’t miss out on a fun-filled time of game playing..  See you there!

HEY COWBOYS!!  The student talent rally is right around the corner!  Sign-ups are posted outside the ASB Office now!!!  Be sure to get your talent ready—auditions are April 29 and 30.

SENIORS

GRAD RECORDINGS:  Seniors would you like to record a message that your friends and family will hear before graduation?  Then grab a slip outside of J-1, bring it back completed to Mrs. Ambrose with a dollar, and sign up for a day to record.  Please come prepared to do your recording.  The first people to record will hear their recordings closer to the star of graduation.

ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP:  The ABC, which hosts the Academic Banquet each year, is granting several scholarships to seniors for academic achievement here at Canyon High School.  Pick up an application in the Counseling office, and return it to Mrs. Smith by Thursday, May 6, 2010.

ENGLISH-LEARNERS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP:  Seniors who have participated in the EL Program here at Canyon are eligible to apply for this scholarship based on academic achievement.  Pick up an application in the Counseling office, and return it to Mrs. Smith by Thursday, May 6, 2010.
